Or smoke and mirrors and we are leading the dee's off the scent.

Or he just forgot to say his name...
Not surprising... Apart from the odd good qtr he's been well off the pace this year. I didn't see last week but he wasn't named in the best despite kicking 8 goals. He would need a run of good performances to be considered IMO.

Nipper and Walsh are well in front of him at this stage.

Wow morton bags 8 and he is not named in the best??? I dont see the reserves game but that is surprising, im all for giving walsh a go but surely morton would be ahead of him as far as experience etc is concerned, we are talking about someone who kicked 40-50 goals in a season compared to someone yet to debut. We need forwards and that is why he was recruited.

I think its time to see Walsh - sounds like he's been performing well in Ressies. I wouldn't expect the world from him, but from what he showed in the International Rules, he has the tools to make it. He just needs some games under his belt.

Could he play sub? What do people reckon? TDL needs to start if he is named this week - I assume he will be.

Experience counts for little if you're not playing well. If Morton can start putting 4 good qtrs together in the reserves then I'm sure he'll be in the mix.

"We don?t throw the baby out of the bathwater in one week, but we?ll also be looking at the structure of the team and what we need for this week against Melbourne.?

I'm not sure about the bath water ...or the baby...but Everitts last 2 poor games means he has to go.
If LRT comes back in, I hope they put him down back and leave Grundy in the forward line for a few games.
If Parkers out I'd like to see Moore rewarded for his consistent good form, and leadership, in the 2's.

                So for mine it's:
                OUT : Everitt, Parker
                IN : LRT, Moore
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

Agree, but I just think that he could be better value than walsh at the moment, who may need time like any debutant and he is also still learning the game. If 8 goals from morton in the reserves can equal 2-3 goals in the seniors then that is a great return, I think the club at least has to have a look at him, heck we are prepared to give everitt games.

I think what we would hope to get from Walsh is desire for the contest and attack on the footy. Bags of goals in the reserves ( exhibit A = TDL) are clearly not overly highly regarded by our coaches. Walsh will certainly take time to find his feet but White has had 4 years and still hasn't found them, and Morton is a downhill skier. Talented yes, but I doubt he'd get too many touches in losing sides. White Attacks the footy like he's allergic to body contact. Walsh at least appears to have a bit of mongrel in him, from what little I've seen of him. Everitt is just a frustrating player, could be a gun, but probably won't ever be a regular senior player. Time for a bit of Irish back in the swans line up, heck, at the very least we could use the luck!

Extrememly unlikely, but the bathwater analogy and the appeal for structure are both features of this thread, so who knows, maybe he got bored with Tetris?

I guess someone had to take over Rohans role in the side...?

?Luke was a bit sore in the knee afterwards. He had a knock on the knee but he?s OK today, but a little bit ginger,?

                          We need Mummy back.
Longmire can make all the changes he wants but to me the biggest glaring deficiency we've had in the two losses was the centre work.

"Given Melbourne are winless, their absence would not be as damaging as other weeks, although the Swans are already without Adam Goodes and Shane Mumford until the mid-season break".
This last sentence in an article about Warwick Capper nearly brought tears to my eyes.

Oh, I forgot to add - Whites a spud! With him and Everitt on the park we are essentially two players down

TDL's defensive capabilities aside, why is it that everytime he gets a gig he takes clean marks leading onto the ball I50? I know Jesse etc can take a few defenders and our game plan is to send it in long and keep it down there but it still frustrates me that TDL can do it and none of our other forwards can (forgetting Goodes).
