Who was the tigers second ruck, especially in the middle?

Hird on SEN this week said their biggest asset is 3 talls and that he'll rotate them all throughout the year and use them as much as possible.

Scott he takes one in about 8 marks and that has always been the problem we have with Drey! He is a great kick! Probably the longest in the AFL but I would like to see him put himself forward a bit more! I would also like him to run wing as that is where he was really good in the pre-season. The other thing is if he is playing wing he can kick off. He can kick up to 80 metres to a set position. He is the best kick to position I have ever seen. Player alone in the centre square just forward of the circle, Drey hits him on chest, player kicks to Nipper, Goal! Beautiful! @@@@ if he could do that in the A's it would be sensational

Burt Doggie has picked up a bit of pace in the off season, maybe not enough for you but I still think he could be valuable!

That's why I said he can mark on a lead.
He doesn't do it very often.

I don't think Seaby or Pyke (or even Mumford) can hold the ruck alone in our team. In: Pyke. Out: Everitt. Reid for Armstrong in normal circumstances but if Reid is just coming good from injury you'd play him.

Really? You base this on what? His beep test or his sprints?

It is moooore than unusual for a bloke of bulldogs age to pick up pace!

Great clubman, and not knocking him, but how can you make a statement like that?

does it matter Burt they actually have four ruckmen who can come in we don't. I believe Miller did that job tonight but that would not be normal as Vickery or Graham would be there. Graham is generally thought to be their first ruck anyway but he is injured. They would play Graham, Maric & Vickery anyway as Vickery plays CHF even though 200cm.

Honestly thought Everitt was our best forward today. I'm a believer. Better when he sets up forward and burns his opponent up to the wing though.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

His sprint rate was the best since joining the club in the off season. Don't put that stuff down it was definitely a lot better than ever before. When they were doing pre-season they released the data on sprints etc and Doggie did quite well as he has been working with an Australian Olympic Sprint Coach.

Yes it does, you made the assertion that the mob this week and last played 2 rucks and therefore they won. Richmond used both Miller and tuck at the centre bounce because seaby was so ineffective. Neither of those or anyone else who played, apart from maric, in the ruck for Richmond, tonight could be categorized as a ruckman

Don't quote stats of players who did not play its irrelevant.

BSA I would prefer Drey on the wing, he is much better going in toward the ball in the mess and taking the ball that is passed out of the mess and kicking it long into the forward line! The great plus is that in that posie he can kick in and spot a player up between 60 & 80 metres from their goal.
