Sheeze some of you are harsh about Sammy! He is a kid. A big kid mind you, but he is still only 20, has a huge frame that he is still growing into, cannot slip away from the opposition because he is just to big to lose sight of, and he does not drop his head and give up. He worked up the ground. He blocked. He contended. He was involved in the game.
Just because he wasn't sighted on TV as much as you would like, didn't mean he was off skulking in the recesses. He played a different type of role. He worked himself into the game. He was a part of a TEAM. Not just standing in the forward line providing fodder for a highlights reel.
Just because he isn't Plugger from debut doesn't mean he has to be dropped to ressies where he would do......what? Learn more from ressie competition than he can from AFL standard? Give me (and Sam) a break! If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Let's be happy - our team won and won well - its footy you win some you lose some - we are traveling pretty well compared to the same time in previous years. So instead of finding fault - rejoice our win.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Agreed. An improved game from Reid. He is still learning, and the best place to learn is in the firsts.
I had three bugbears from the last few weeks - lack of forward structure; an uncompetitive ruck division; and allowing a loose man in defence to spank us. We have made moves to improve the first couple, but you just know St Kilda will try to get Gram as the loose man. Wonder how we will respond?Comment

Pretty well happy with everything. Only thing I would pick on, and i'm being a little harsh maybe, is that Dan gets so much of the ball but isn't using it the best. If Dan can fix that up he will be lethal.
*Just looking at the stats he had 76% disposal efficiency so he def wasn't the worst. Seemed to be plenty of kicks to 2&3 on 1 situations from memory though. A few too many rushed options when pushing forward outside the midfield. He looks much better when he is more patient. Hopefully that comes with age/experience.

Jetta is another player whose kicking needed to improve, has improved, but still needs to improve some more. Having said that, his super development has been the most exciting part of the year so far. Kicked three more cracking goals last night, but took them all in his stride - he's confident and feels he belongs. I can't wait to see him in big games.Comment

People are entitled to their opinions but imo the Swans are a weaker side without Sammy in it. He attracts defenders to him which opens up opportunities for the others. Once his confidence returns (Horse says he's over the injuries and is training fully) he'll start to impact the scoreboard more.
The good news is that I saw a more confident Reid in the 2nd half which augers well for the rest of the season...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Man sized income is called an investment in the future, and in this case it is in Swans footy future not for instance IT where you can hire and fire at will, because there is always someone good enough to replace you!
He is ours because the people in charge have deemed it a great idea to lock him in. Now comes the hard work for all concerned.
Many people have lost the lot by investing in get rich quick schemes. I am all for investing in the future and seeing steady growth. If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Some people here seem to think all 22 of our players need to play like gary ablett every week or they should be dropped.
We won by 101 points. First time in 6 years so just enjoy it.Adam Goodes: Rising Star 99, Brownlow 2003, 2006

More practicality than negativity. Reid is down on confidence and probably carrying an injury. He has been way down during the past month. If you are appointed FF and don't kick goals or take marks you should be replaced with someone who can. IMO he needs to go back to the twos. I would replace him with Seaby or White (of all people) who should be rested having the week off. Either of them could serve as second ruck to Pyke and support LRT down back. Now does that sound like negativity?"Play like you can’t lose."Comment
