I would of taken 16-6 and 3rd place in a heartbeat at the start of the year, we have already improved on last year! We are top 4 material and deserve to be there. Geez there's some harsh people on this site!

cant play worse the today can we ?

although in saying that if we cant start delivering passes out of the backline like the Hawks, Geelong or Pies we are in serious trouble

we will have teh finals teams pushing up on us and we wont be able to get out of our half !

        That's not correct, surely?

Adelaide are like WCE at home - will expect to win, as will the crowd. Listen for the constant booing - it'll get to the umps and players around half way through Q2.
If we'd booed more last week against Hawkes, we would have won.

PS where has the Sydney chant gone?

Certainly not top 4 impostors, a 16-6 record is not to be sniffed at (equal most wins in a home and away season for a South Melb/Sydney team ever).

Bit concerned about the formline going into the finals though. You definitely want to be playing your best footy at the right time of the season. Losing to Geelong at Simonds Stadium no disgrace, but we went down by six goals today. The players have to step up if they want to win finals!

Bob, we now sit in the Trumper and the booing was loud and long against the Hawks.

Also, the Sydney chant was launched on several occasions and travelled around the ground quite well.

Wasn't there a 50m we didn't get at the end because the SCG crowd was too loud for the Hawks to hear the umpire's call?

Yep, the negativity on here is one reason a lot of people no longer post.

I would call myself a positive person, but will be negative and critical, if a performance warrants that type of critique.

I actually thought we were OK against Geelong, but were beaten by the better side on the day - it happens.

One thing I will not do, is stop posting because other people have different opinions to my own. You would have to be fairly spineless to do so.

I've never stopped posting on here myself but I do understand why others have and it's nothing to do with being spineless or not wanting to have discussions where opininions vary from your own. I think it's more to do with the constant negativity and nastiness that has crept onto this site in the past twelve to eighteen months. The biggest thing on here now as compared to a few years ago is that after a loss I could come on here and kind of share the pain and talk to others who were feeling the loss just like I was, but this year in particular - our most successful in six years, I log on after a loss and it's all "We're crap, we don't deserve to play finals, get rid of player 1, get rid of player 2, Freddie Bloggs would be a far better option than Billie Black and aren't the coaches morons for not playing them"! Yes we all have these feelings after a game but the fact this garbage is still being written two/ three days later is the annoying part or also the fact that when someone posts something positive after a loss there is usually a barrage of criticism (often personal) that follows.
Basically, it's not fun here anymore!
Yes we have lost three from our past four games, but of those three losses - which equates to about 360 minutes of footy, we played crap for about 80 minutes against three of the top five teams this year! I just don't get the negativity.

That's how I feel, just much better articulated. This place is best avoided after losses, you would think the earth had sunken into itself, plague and famine had consumed us, all our firstborns had been sacrificed and so on. I get the passion, I get the anger and disappointment but it becomes a vicious cycle in here sometimes and it can feel pointless being involved in all that.

                                Well put Jewels.

Opinions can be negative or positive and it doesn't worry me either way. However, I can understand why people would not post due to nastiness or demeaning posts.

Luckily, the very nice people who monitor the comments, are quick to come down on most of those sorts of comments.
