Yes, in their case replace next week with 2018.

I actually enjoy reading all the ranting and raving after a loss, sometimes I like to add a bit too, or not. But one day maybe two is enough. Time to look forward to the great bounce back. I wouldn't mind if they went with much the same team, give them all a chance to show that they have what it takes when the chips are down. For they really do need to win this one, for numbers and for credibility. There are a lot of teams snapping at their heels for a top 8 spot.

Footy should be about fun, supporting a great club should be about having fun, this site should definitely be all about having a bit of fun. I think some people have forgotten that lately.

Absolutely spot on. I admire people who can just say "well there's always next week". It guts me when we lose and I don't know why I stay in a depressed state - It's not as if me doing it tough has any impact on what happens next week. (By the way, I just can't understand these people who say "I don't care who wins, as long as it's close!" I want us to win by 30 goals each week. I want to go to the footy wanting to win then enjoy it when we can't lose it! I find myself saying to my kids if we score first in a match "I'd be happy for them to ring the siren and we can go home winners now!"). I look forward to footy all summer and when it comes it destroys my life (except in 2005).

I get like that aswell, its quite sad. Being a victorian supporter doesnt help either seeing that all the games i do get to go to Sydney always lose or draw.

And the tides of life will be the tides of the home-team's fortunes
                      - the reckless proposal after the one-point win,
the wedding and honeymoon after the grand-final ?

from "Life Cycle" by Bruce Dawe - one of my favourite poems. Doesn't say much about the despair of losing though....

Nice one. There aren't enough footy-inspired poems. Maybe the league could introduce Poetry Round.

I wonder about surveys taken about Bi polar disorders for Swans supporters, taken at the wrong time, after loss or a big win, some of us, me included wold look very Jekyll and Hyde

You might be onto something there Gong (if I can call you that ?) it also depends on the beverage consumption during the telecast as well

I stick with tea, otherwise I may have no TV by 3/4 time, i'd hate to be back drinking and watching the Swans, I was off my head at the 96 prelim and several Essendon supporters copped a spray of mega proportions,. not good PR for Sydney at all, and whatever u call me, I've been called worse

The only game each year where I have a few is the Collingwood game. I figure I'm gonna need it cos I know what the result is going to be - I leave the kids at home (they don't need to be exposed to their supporters anyway) and take the bus to the game. It always means that I end up in a verbal spat with at least one of their supporters though. They are the one group of fans who can't ignore opposition supporters having a go at their team. They have to chirp away and throw in their two cents worth to my private conversation (or ranting) with my friends. Just because I've had a few beers and may be louder or more "forthright" in my opinions than normal give them no excuse.

And while I'm on my soapbox, how the hell do Pies supporters get into the Swans' Members bar at Homebush. They're like cockroaches! If you're unlucky enough to be with one of them, don't let them into the bar. That's ours. If I want to stand in there and let fly at the opposition I should be able to. That bar should be our sanctuary.
