Pyke is a better tap ruckman than Mumford

5th in the AFL for hit-outs/game for 2012. (Mumford is 6th, they've both played the same number of games)

Equal 3rd in the AFL for goal assists/game for 2012.

A good big man is better than a good little man, we play one ruck to play an extra mid, who is the extra mid going to be with Parks out? Maybe one ruck once Parks comes back, maybe. If it keeps working, why would it change?

I hope that's not true. Pyke is different in that he is quick/mobile and can definitely play a role for us. I really liked him and Mummy swapping between ruck and FF and I think it helped mix up the defensive issues for the Dogs. Couple that with LRT mainly playing there and it means the smaller forwards are, all of a sudden, being freed up to do what they do best.

Couldn't agree more. Everything worked better and no coincidence that LRT played far and away his best game up forward too, when he didnt have to head to the ruck.
