Thanks ugg - good to see, and hear.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Ahh so nice to watch, some positive talk about the Swans and people noticing that we're not just a boring stoppage based team who "love the wet".

Thank you ugg. I miss this kind of involvement from an afl centric programme. FTA just doesn't cut it.

At least OTC are finally actually looking at what the Swans can do. Nice change.

There was more love on Sky Sports Radio this morning : Tom Harley comes on to report to TK and Slats on the weekends AFL action.
He was all over the Swans, going as far as saying the Swans Footy department is actually second to none ! He particularly mentioned the recruiting department and the way new recruits are mentored. he went on for a fair while, and someone said "What better than Collingwood?" He said yes as good as. Tom loves us.
"He was proud of us when we won and he was still proud of us when we lost' Tami Roos about Paul Sept 06.

Love having a footy show hosted by two ex-Swan players.

Some interesting post-game analysis over the Bomber match:

This piece on the AFL site says the Dons' problem was they bombed it deep and in to the hands of Ted, Grundy etc. Only in the last quarter did they go for shallow entries and retained possession. Seems to have taken Hird a long time to work that out.

This not just related to that game but to the league-wide mania for contested possession:

Ted Hopkins, who founded Champion Data in 1995, says that quality disposal is a more accurate guide to winning than contested possession. ''An extra quality disposal is worth two points on the scoreboard, an extra contested possession is worth one point,'' Hopkins said. ''The art of kicking is the most sublimely important skill in football. I get amazed at this focus on players crashing in like road carnage. There's no point unless you've got the ability or the teamwork to extract the ball. The best way to put pressure on an opposition is precise disposal.''

The Swans lost the CP count on Sat but we did win in effective disposals and tackles. We lost it against the Bulldogs the previous week.
