    LRT

Yes LRT, has been a great servant, terrific bloke, and one who the team mates love. But if we want to progress as a side he must be ommitted. He offers nothing apart from a contest and seriously if we had a key forward in those last passages of play the game could have been over. When goodesy is fit, LRT must not play, limited footballer and we dont have any room for passengers.
LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

i think with Pyke playing well at the moment, he will stay in as the 2nd tall ahead of LRT. He couldnt even outrun Fletcher

Fletcher is pretty quick for his size.

As mentioned, Fletcher is still quick - that's one of the reasons he's still going. Though LRT did well to halve a couple of contests with Fletcher late. Spang would offer more as a fwd but his past 2 games he's been good

More LRT bashing, pretty tired of it really. If LRT doesn't ruck in the last quarter, who does? He's too valuable all over hte park, Everit will go before LRT

Interestingly enough, someone I know happened to be in a corporate box at Etihad tonight and spent a lot of time talking to a key figure inside the club. It was made pretty clear that LRT is preferred to Pyke and that the Canadian will make way when Goodes returns. When Mummy rucks, Goodes to FF. When Mummy is resting up forward, LRT to ruck and Goodes on the ball.

Makes sense, but its disappointing for Pyke if that plays out.

To assess LRT's performance, you need to consider Fletcher's impact on the game.

You can't have Mumford, Reid, LRT, Pyke, Spanger and Goodes all in the same team. 5 of them, yes - not 6.

It's probably between Pyke and LRT depending on how you rate them. I think Pyke gives more in the 2nd ruck role.

Lrt hasnt exactly been outplayed by sam reid for one. He is honest, he is a better backman though

Wow! When I opened this thread I expected to read his praises being sung. I thought he was good tonight in the context of the game, and especially in that final quarter. He bottled the ball up in the forward line and forced it to the boundary line when he had to. Fletcher is a super player, and between them, he and Mummy kept his influence to a pretty ordinary level.

Although to be fair, Mummy spent a bit of time there too

                              What liz said.

There are not many players in the squad who can do what LRT does. Play everywhere. Back, forward, ruck. He is the best filler we have in the squad. One day someone else will come along. But sheesh, as liz said I opened this thread expecting songs of praise. Not this!
