The morning after and it's interesting that there's a move towards "they won, but . . ."
Coming from behind to win at the end against the Premiers may do more for our season than any of our other wins. It shows the team they can fight back and win. Big step up.
If anyone had told me at the beginning of the season that we'd beat the Hawks in Tassie, the Bombers at in Melbourne and the Cats twice in a row - both in Geelong and at the SCG I'd think we had a real shot at the Premiership. I know the up and down progress of the past two games has been a worry. But getting the wins without a dominant Goodes and Mumford gives us room for improvement.
Over at BF it seems that the Swans are below the Hawks and the Bombers in the run for the flag. I think we can be with Goodes' statement that the Swans can win a flag with the current team - and this could be the year. I think the players believe that and, as the season rolls on, I think more of us may fall in behind him. But (obviously) we have to keep winning - particularly R16 again the Eagles (here we go again!) and, even more importantly, the Pies in n R20. We can't seriously expect to win a GF if we go into it without beating the Pies. Then again, we didn't manage to beat the Crows much in the 2005/06 era.
