LRT cannot play against a collingwood or a west coast. With marty maybe out, im happy for him to go back and play Goodesy and Reid upforward. He played well tonight, but his lack of skill just kills so much momentum and i watched his defensive work and TDL surely can execute the same amount of work that LRT did.
LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

Report from the ressies said TDL did a lot of defensive work inside f50 today. It probably makes sense to give him a run in the seniors. I guess it depends on whether they try to run Dre up to senior game level, Goodes is a game or 2 away, and Mummy is just about there, so teh team balance could shift in the next few weeks

You lot are @@@@ing kidding me! He is a champion. There are very few players that can play back/forward and in the ruck. Did any of you notice the introduction of the substitute rule???? Helllooooo?
He is the right the player in the right team.
TDL??? I love the kid. I made up a song for him. But his heart is a pea next to Lewie's.
Take a good look in the mirror and give yourselves a dozen!

I totally agree Lucky.. Very few players give there all like LRT.. Unless he is injured he isn't going anywhere.. He is loved by the coaching staff because they ask him to fill a role and he does it.. Wherever that may be..

I just wish we could find a spot somewhere for TDL, I love watching this boys work around the goals.
I'm not really sure whether we need the three talls as well as Goodes in the forward line. We also have Drey and he played pretty tall tonight and I thought he did a very good job. I think we can sacrifice a tall for TDL with Drey & Goodsie in the side. We have enough height with the resting ruck, Sammy, Goodsie & Drey so a mid size like TDL would fit in perfectly. I think at times we were missing that tonight.

Good for you Lucky! I was about to say something the same and there you go and do it for me. We are fortunate to have a bloke on the paddock who can play anywhere. Many (read MOST) cannot. I sit behind the bench now, and I can tell you the blokes coming off are mostly running on empty. Can any of you think of anyone on our team who can play all positions? The rotations are constant, every few seconds, and where do they send LRT? Cover any area a bit patchy would you mind sir while your team mate has a rest.

Back off you naysayers. He is doing HIS job as he is asked to do by the Coach, not by a few redandwhiters!

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

                  Way to go Primmy.
Watching on TV it was noticeable LRT was bobbing up all over the ground. My father (84yo) commented late in the game that "any coach would be proud to have LRT in their team as he never stops giving his all in what ever position he is asked to play". And he did it last night after being knocked out at the start of the game.
I am so over the LRT knockers. If there was anyone knocking on the door to take his place I have confidence in the coaching staff to make that call. Until then I will enjoy seeing Lewie run around in the jumper.

LRT is in my 21 every day of the week.

Through my eyes, he was really good last night and I suspect he is doing exactly what the coach asks of him which is why he keeps getting selected. He doesn't hve to take contested marks - just a make a contest.

He doesn't have to rattle up 25 possies - just a dozen important ones. You can tell by the body language how much the rest of the boys appreciate his efforts and obviously Horse does too.

Sorry nay-sayers. You are wasting your breath. Only injury will see him out of the team.

Not even that - he played his heart out after being Ko-ed in the opening minutes. Great work rate.

Hmm, he can play anywhere, yes that's true, I'm not going to discount that.
Most peoples beef is with the quality of his performances in each respective position.
A defensive position is the only one I would say LRT is capable at.
He is an extremely average forward and ruckman.
Do we really require a jack of all trades, master of none? Or would we get more mileage from someone playing as a specialist in their position?

Of course it's difficult to change a winning side, and I have nothing against LRT. But I cannot help but think we could do better with a forward playing in the forward line.
