          Not much of a defense in Lynch's case but why wouldn't he appeal - he had nothing to lose and he's probably a bigger out for the Eagles than Shuey given the state of their forward line. By appealing they might have got lucky and I don't blame them.

          Thomas was clearly faking more contact than there was but Shuey was always going to get something. If the contact was "body" contact it wasn't for want of trying by Shuey. West Coast were a bit ambitious here. They should have pleaded guilty to the lesser charge (intentional, low and body contact) would have been 125 points, + 10% (bad record) - 25% (guilty plea) + 60 carry-over points = about 160-170 points = 1 week. That way they would have at least had him for Adelaide.

          This is all bad news for me though - I'm starting to expect the Swans to win.
