A really even performance with everyone contributing. Just got to get rid of the 5 min brain fade and we are a big chance this year.

Sooooooo proud of the boys' performance today. Have been copping it all year from Wet Toast supporters telling me how they've already got the premiership tied up. No prize for April premiers morons!!!! It's going to be a nice quiet week this week.
Thanks to Collingwood for minding our spot on top of the ladder. Now...back to third you go!!
To the red and white army at the game today: You were AMAZING. The Sydney chant going up was awesome to hear on TV.I might have a slight drinking problem. My husband asked me to toast some bread for him...so I raised my wine glass and said "Here's to bread!"Comment

We are moving in the right direction.. Earlier in the season it was a whole quarter brain fade.. We have it down to 5 minutes now.. Hopefully gone by the time we play the Pies.. No fade....Comment

Some observations:
Playing against WCE in Perth..add 5 goals to their score.
Our ability to run out ganes was well and truly put to rest.
Mumford makes a huge difference to us. He and Pykes ruckwork at centre bounces to stop the height advantage of the 2 Eagles was excellent.
That is the best centre clearance work by us in years. As I have said before... we win 50/50 on centre clearances and we are hard to beat. We have got good at rebounding from half back into an open forward line so clean centre clearances really enhances that. It put so much pressure on their backs. It was a nightmare for their backs.
ROK and Hanners have huge tanks.
Our ball movement and in close handball was almost faultless.
Reg had a much better second half.
Reid's best game. He now has the ability to take his oppopnent under the flight of the ball and turn him inside out. He spanked about the best FB in the business. He worked his backside off all game all over the forward line and is prepared to get involved in the hard in and under stuff.
I think McVeigh silenced the "he's not a captain" chorus once and for all.
Bird, 22 possessions as a defensive forward on Hurn was special.
Our collective midfield was outstanding. Jude playing forward in the first half then going in the guts in the 2nd half with a full tank is a masterstroke.
Malceski...his last 2 weeks have been very good. The whole backline was brilliant. Nice last quarter by Ted.
On Johnson...he probably had a couple of poor disposals but his high closing speed spoils were outstanding.
Jetta only needs a half a dozen clean possessions to punish an opposition.
Fantastic to be able to say after a game that there was not one passenger.Comment

Hitouts only lost 50 to 46
Clearances 44 to 43 in our favour
Mike Pyke 13 possessions @ 69%, 3 tackles and 82 Supercoach points
Mumford 12 possessions @ 58%, 4 tackles and 79 Supercoach points
Cox 13 possessions @ 54%, 1 tackle and 74 Supercoach points
Naitanui 6 disposals @ 50%, 2 tackles and 66 Supercoach points
So remind me who has the best ruck combo in the AFL? :-)"I'll acknowledge there are more talented teams in the competition but I won't acknowledge that there is a better team in the competition" Paul Roos March 2005Comment

Fantastic game. I began viewing when Darling had a shot in the first qtr to put the eagles back in front.
I still can't believe this is the same team from a month ago.
Their pressure around the ball carrier was incredible.
Even when the Eagles hit back in the 2nd qtr we were still able to respond.
First game I've seen in 4 weeks, so I thoroughly enjoyed it.Comment

And another point. We have a luxury in the forward line...Adam Goodes. Right now he is not required in the midfield. It really is going to stretch any backline.Comment

I just need to brag here........
I put $10 on us to win by over 39.5 points on Friday afternoon ath the juicy odds of $9.50 to $1. Thankyou very much swans!!!!!
I just had a feeling we would win comfortably.
A great all round effort from everyone really. O'keefe, Hanners and Pyke the standouts for me.
On another note, did anyone else notice, I think it was in the 2nd quarter, after a goal was kicked, we forgot to put a ruckman in for a centre bounce?Comment

I just watched the replay and Mike sounded like a Chipmunk on racehorse steroids. He was a happy man. Jacko wouldn't have understood a word he said.Nothing like a good light bulb moment.Comment
