Horse hasnt actually acheived anything yet, so lets not put the ...... before the cart here.

My criticism back then was his use of ruckmen as a sub, which he has overcome.

But all in all he's looking like a fine coach. I was just thinking the other day that even in Roos' best years, we were always aware he'd leave sometime in the next couple of years. With Horse you get the feeling he could be like Sheedy or Worsfold, and keep the job for decades if he keeps producing.

Was that started after the Richmond game last year?

I looked for more photos of Longmire to see if his player relationships had improved and a photo of Lou Diamond Phillips came up which is fairly troubling.

If you dont believe me, you can see the photo here: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/e-vgSQHUDbA/0.jpg

I seem to remember Mark Thomson having his head on the chopping block a few years back. Maybe more than a few.
A couple of Premierships and one of the best teams in the business later he is now a coaching legend.

Wow, I don't know who bumped this, might have been Horse himself, I went through the whole thing, what a rant. Happy to have been devoid of opinion on that one

LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

Hahaha that's the funniest thing I've read in ages, some of those posts are golden!
A year certainly is a long time in footy.

Ah nothing like an internet forum gloating session!!!

Happy to put my hand up 12 months later and admit that Longmire has really turned things around, so to the one and only person I owe an apology to - Sorry Horse.

I maintain that some of those criticisms were warranted at the time, and other concerns (e.g gameplan) have turned out to be completely incorrect. Despite what some may (or would like to) think I'm happy to be eating humble pie with the team travelling very nicely at the moment.

For those of you that are never wrong, or whose opinons are better than others, congratulations, it must be nice for you.

BTW Captain, I'm still not convinced on LRT but given he's not going anywhere I've learnt to live with it

I hold my hand in the air for sure and wasn't a fan of Longmire. Some of his decisions, espeically with the sub choice were terrible. What he has done subsequently has been amazing.

We can all be wrong, but to be heavily involved in calling for LRT's head very soon after incorrectly calling for Longmire's head doesn't sit well with me.

The whole LRT thing is getting a bit drawn out, isn't it?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time
