I hold my hand in the air for sure and wasn't a fan of Longmire. Some of his decisions, espeically with the sub choice were terrible. What he has done subsequently has been amazing.
We can all be wrong, but to be heavily involved in calling for LRT's head very soon after incorrectly calling for Longmire's head doesn't sit well with me.
However, I stand by my opinion that there may be better options than LRT and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. You'll note that I haven't posted on that topic for a number of weeks now because 1. Too many posters were getting agitated and the posts were degenerating into personal attacks, and 2. He's clearly in the MC's best 22 so no point posting adnauseum about the same issue and causing 1. to occur.
At no point in my posts on this forum have I made any personal attacks on LRT, I've just put forth my opinion on his place in the 22.
I could trawl back through RWO and repost numerous threads with posters calling for Goodes, Bolton, O'Keefe, McVeigh and Grundy among others to be dropped, traded or delisted but I'm more interested in discussing the 2012 Swans rather than trying to belittle or get one up on other postersComment

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

I have to admit I wasn't a fan of Longmire at all. Some of his early moves stunk of feeling his way but I suppose that is what new coaches do. The Coaching Panel has changed and the roles have also changed so he took some advice on those obviously. It is a more balanced look JL has got this year but he also has a lot of talent to work with, far more than Roos I think. His coaching style is changing bit by bit into something interesting and that bit by bit may have been to bring the older players along slowly. It is harder to change when you have been used to one coaching regime, just ask Nick Reiwoldt.
All in all the coaches have done an excellent job this year and the players are responding. FIRST TO ADMIT I WAS WRONG! But don't count the chickens before they are hatched, we have a premiership to win in the next two years.Comment

Whilst my tone may be a bit less severe than it was a year ago, I still don't like Longmire. I have a right to that opinion. You cannot deny me that right. I cannot deny you your right to call me a dickhead. That call is yours and will stand you in great stead.
He made one redeeming decision at the start of the year - To take a rank-defender mate out of the forwards coaching position. Things haven't improved much. We've just been lucky to be far enough in front to not allow the opposition a sniff on a couple of occasions. Go read the game day threads if you want an idea of what supporters think.
I reserve the right to have my own opinion.
But I still want the team to win the premiership, with or without Longmire.Comment

Ha.
Longmire stays for as long as he wants.
Ye of little faith.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

There was a comment yesterday on radio, by Robert Walls surprisingly, that at this stage of the year horse would have to be the All-Australian Coach of the Year and it would be hard to argue against that. I think people were way too harsh on him last year.Comment
