Spot on! It's also the opinion of the coaches as well. I've seen a lot of the reserves over the years and the coaches have worked their butt off to get TDL to play like an AFL footballer. Sadly some players and some posters here think that dominant performances in the NEAFL automatically translates to AFL success.

TDL is a smart footballer but when teams these days launch attacks from the defensive 50 you need forwards who can run, chase and be physical able to keep the ball inside the 50. TDL seems incapable of doing this.

We need someone who can kick goals and Burt if you are going to have a go at someone for bad defense have a look at Godsies efforts on Saturday mate!@!!They were shocking!!!

TDL also suffers from not getting a solid run in the 1's. If we were a poorer team, he might be able to find the pace at AFL given an extended run, unfortunately ( or fortunately depending on how you look at it) we are a high quality side at the moment and players that come in have to find that pace immediately or they'll soon be dropped.

I think this is the fact. There are exceptions to the rule like AJ and Parks, they just came in and performed at a high level that was noticeable and there will always be players like that, most need a few consecutive games to get up to speed, and we tend to judge players harshly, given the intensity of the Pies game you would expect any ressies regular to struggle a little at that type of game

No, i am always lateral when the 2's are on. However, I am vertical when he drops off tackles or doesn't chase.
              Dropped for both these reasons.

Yay, I have soooooo been looking forward to seeing Mitch in the seniors, he has been electrifying in the ressies games I've seen recently.

Just hope and pray he isn't the sub!

Good to see Morton get given a chance.

I'm seated when the 2's are going. Vertical when its time to hunt down a pie. Pity TDL didn't do the same last week.

Distinct possibility they will run Reid for 3/4 then put Morton on, only other option is to have a mid as sub, Bird or the like. Just can't see it

Can I just say I'm a teensy bit proud of Morton. The coaches made him work for his debut and he has certainly looks to have improved his game.

Quote from the article on sydenyswans.com.au: 'I think sitting here now; it?s probably the proudest moment of my career to be able to break into a top of the table team.'

Good luck and I hope he gets a run for the whole game.

He's a pretty intense guy, so can imagine him delivering that quote. Agree - hope he is not the sub. Maybe McGlynn? (Just reminds me how much I hate this stupid sub arrangement.)
