I think he is injured BC, otherwise he would be able to chase and last week he couldn't. I was there and it was painfully obvious that he was hampered by his hamstring or somewhere in the upper leg, driver muscle etc. He would start to chase and then slow down after a short burst. He grabbed at his leg a couple of times as though it tightened. I don't think it is a matter of being out of form as he was in the early part of the season and worked it out. I think it is more involved.

Sometimes when a person is told to concentrate on a particular thing that is not natural to them they spend all their time trying to get that right. The natural side of the persons abilities is put aside to concentrate on the learned abilities. This is called vertical v lateral. The vertical is the practical performed or learned knowledge and the lateral is the natural, inventive knowledge. What sometimes happens is that a person can go too far one way or the other without balance. When he first came he had a lot of lateral but almost no vertical. Now he seems to have too much vertical and not enough lateral. He needs to find a balance and get the flair back. He will work on that and Stewie Dew or Davo will probably work with him to get a balance.Comment

ROK played mainly in the midfield and resting in the forward line or on bench. More so on bench I think this game. He played on the wing for a while I noticed, it was hard to tell at times they were rotating the centre square so quickly. I was amazed at the speed of the rotations of both sides but I think we reacted to their rotations at times. Players were literally streaming to and from the bench some only on the bench for a very small amount of time.
I believe the Interchange Law has to change to limit the amount of interchanges allowed. At the moment it is just ridiculous how many rotations there are. Players spending only less than a minute on the bench and then back onto the field just because the coach wants to talk to them. No more!!! The Interchange was meant to rest tired players in a game that had become increasingly more athletic not to bring a player off to get a spray or a tip from the coach.
Secondly I felt that the forwards were dis-functional, ROK up forward for a while longer should have improved our forward setup... (agree that he has been more that serviceable around the ground, in this instance the forward line needed him!)

Reid for TDL is an obvious change, it does make us taller but we have missed that down the line target we love kicking to, more often than not to create a throw-in on the wing/HF. The bonus here is that Reid clunks them now and then too. Often last week we tried that only for B.Reid and Maxwell read the play and turn it over.
Armstrong struggles for impact as the sub, would happily see him start but for who not sure. Kicks it well and is good outside but his defensive stuff isn't all that much chop at the moment, slight frame doesn't help. Surprised that I find myself saying this but I think Everitt adds a bit to our side as a long-kicking winger/HF. Is good around goals and when given reign to attack he's been pretty good. Wouldn't mind seeing him come in. Haven't heard anything but with this our last of the softer games before finals, a Jetta-type may be given a week to freshen up. Does seem to go against Horse's policy of going full strength every game but could see it happening.Twitter: @tp_roseComment

So it looks like the sub will be out of ;
Morton, Sprangher, Meredith, Armstrong
Maybe this is Mortons chance ?? If so, it's a slim one as a sub.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

Encouraging sign for Meredith but can't see him making the final 22. Reid for TDL is the obvious change and then they'll have to decide on:
1. Whether to bring in a forward for Armstrong
2. and if they do, whether it will be a tall (Spangher) or small (Morton). Likely to go small I would think since it is almost certain that this player would be the sub.Comment

I like all of those selections.
Sam Reid - obviously, assuming he's fit.
Morton, Spangher and Meredith have all been impressive in the reserves this year. Matt Spangher is my personal favourite, and I thought last year he really brought a lift to the rest of our forwards when he came into the team. Injected an enthusiasm for the contest that had been just a little lacking. That said, he's also had the least consistent form, and most time out from injury, so Morton has probably earned an opportunity over The Spang.
Meredith is great too, and may provide more coverage for Jude's role.
Look forward to seeing who runs out on Sunday!Superman still wears Brett Kirk PyjamasComment

Nothing makes me happy about a young player not performing. I hope he goes back to the 2's and works hard on his deficiencies and comes back a harder working/tackling player.Comment
