Kebab Knocker King, showed a draw last night on 360 based on teams playing each other twice in the series only getting 2 points.

It had Hawks, Pies, Swans as the top 3 and the Crows were down at 5.

He does compliment the Swans and what they have done this year but says they will lose next two games.

Not long to wait to find out. Lets hope the injury worries for Pies this weekend have some validity.

Collingwood lost twice to Carlton; 2 shocking games against a side you'd expect the supposedly no 2 side would beat. We had a shocking game against Richmond, but played away. How should those two situations be penalised equally? Collingwood learned nothing, but we never had a chance at redemption so to speak.

People should stop searching for who really deserves to be in the top 4 and who doesn't. We all have to admit that the side who wins the premiership isn't always the best side, they are instead the best side on the day. The competition is imperfect, but that's they way it has always been.

It was a stupid idea, that would make our last 2 games against top 8 sides worth only 2 points, ridiculous, just some melbourne idiot trying to find a way to make the melbourne teams look better

I'm assuming this post is directed at me.

What Andrew Wu produces (and for that matter Neil Cordy), becasue yes I do read the paper every day, is not in my mind 'quality journalism'. I could write what he writes. Now I'm not trying to slight his writing ability becasue I understand that he is on a tight word limit and the club, as I said talks a lot without saying much, but maybe every week on a Sunday or Saturday we could get a nice feature piece. Something just a little bit special that involves some actual hard research or draws from an insightful interview.

My post had a crack at the current level of AFL journalism in the whole country. I think there is a lot of width in terms of clubs covered by their respective paper, but I contest the fact there is a lot of depth. I did not for once join a 'Melbourne-media hates us' whinge fest.

You've somehow managed to find fault in all 15 of their wins, and also make no consideration of their 3 close losses (cats twice, eagles once) by a combined total of 9 points.

Good form in the 2nd half of the year is paramount to mounting a serious flag challenge and both teams have this in abundance. How you can say in one breath that the number 1 team on the ladder is going great, but the number 2 team, with just 1 win less, "have had a very different season" is astonishing. It clearly demonstrates a massive bias and if your point was to prove you could be as one-eyed as the "experts" down south, congratulations, mission accomplished.

Funny, becasue your first line was 'If you haven't read any positive, quality writing about the Swans this year, you're not looking hard enough.' When in my post I wrote 'when is the last time somebody has read a quality article about us?'.

Ahem..we've only beat them on the last two occasions...last year in Geelong, and this year in Sydney...

This weeks clash is the top 2 sides in the competition, but the media thinks the hawks are a shoe in. I hope we win both our final 2 games and really give this competition a shake up. I'm quite happy being the underdog and staying under the radar

Our defence is #1 in the league with 71ppg. Hawks are #2 with 78ppg. Our attack is #4 in the league with 106ppg and the hawks are top with 124ppg.

So statistically it is the two best matched sides in the comp. It will be a big test of our credentials. It'll be a close one, less than 10 points.

It's interesting to note that in 2005 our defence was #2 (77ppg) and attack was #14 (90ppg) and in 2006 defence was #1 (74ppg) and attack was #7 (95ppg). We are comparatively in much better positions than 05-06 and our 2 losses against top 4 sides were by 8 points and 5 points (at home which is a worry).

Footy Teams last night it was 2-all for and against us. Seems fair. The game will decide who goes on as flag favourite so it's huge. It'll also tell us a lot about how the young Swans stand up to finals-like pressure. I think/hope they'll do okay. But I'm not so sure about myself - I had huge butterflies by the time Dermott signed of on our game last night, and there's still a sleep to go. How incredibly exciting is this season?

Yes I thought the Fox Footy guys were very fair and balanced in their assessment of the game, with Swans being favoured by a few of them. Someone also said they thought the winner would be a hot chance for the Grand Final - nothing startling there of course when the top 2 teams play each other 2 rounds out from the finals, but at least they haven't been dismissive of the Swans like a few hacks have been.

I don't feel the need to break down and analyse every game when my point is they have won 15 games this year, have far and away the best % (a 61 point average winning margin over all opposition) and have a positive win-loss record against the top8 this year. I reckon their wins against all these top sides have much merit to them and I equally credit their 3 close losses to have more positive than negative as well (apart from the Swans tassie game!).

Their flogging of the pies recently and coming back from 8 goals down to almost win it against the cats (ie, one shocking qtr and 3 great qtrs of footy) is enough to convince me they are serious contenders this year.

Why does everything have to be so binary? Its an awfully simplistic take on things. My view is that the hawks, pies, swans and cats are all a good chance but variables such as where prelims are played and injuries (amongst numerous other factors) will dictate greatly who meets, and ultimately wins the big one.

Your underwhelming review of Hawthorn's season in so far as to completely discount them from being capable of winning a flag proves that any opinion you have on footy cant be taken seriously.

It's simple - we're not rated because our hardest games are at the end of the season; in the last four weeks of the H&A season we play the three sides that between them have won the last five premierships. I'm guessing that the football world in general are reserving their judgement until we've passed this test. We've already lost to the Filth. Until we've played the Dorks and Rats, people will reserve their judgement.

It won't happen for much longer if we beat the Hawks. There's going to be a giant Swans-shaped blip on everybody's radar that's going to be hard to ignore.
