I was far more pleased that they brought to light the 2 poor decisions that did us in the bum. If nothing else, now my mrs doesn't think I'm a one-eyed raving lunatic. Pity about my broken laptop. (this is my first post from my new laptop)

Roos did mention that he wasn't going to put down ANZ as they had some great wins there.

360 degrees did not even mention those two decisions let alone show footage of them.

Those 2 decisions were bad, but lets not forget that Mike Pyke also got away with a hands in the back (against Luke Hodge I think) even though Luke did make it look worse than it actually was.

Those 2 decisions were appalling, and the Fox Footy guys were right to bring them into focus. Yes we benefitted from a few umpiring decisions that went our way during the match, but we're talking two completely wrong decisions at critical times in the 4th quarter that had direct scoreboard impacts against us. I wouldn't want to be seeing that sort of thing go against us in finals when the stakes are so much higher...

AFL360 mentioned, and showed footage of, the Pupuola decison in their 10 question wrap up section at the end. Robbo thought it was rotten.

Having seen the replays on OTC (first time I'd seen them since the game) I'm now convinced that the Pupuola call was about as rotten a free kick decision as there can be. Absolutely awful. The 50M I can now live with. It was inconsistent and, based on other games, should have been paid, but in principle I hate decisions like that when it's clear the player infringing didn't hear the umpire. Having said that I wish they'd applied the common sense principle in another game than ours!

I accept the fact that the umpiring of AFL games will never be perfect, however those two decisions were totally substandard. There have been a handful of really really bad decisions in AFL matches across the board this season, as per every year, however these were two in one quarter against us in a close game. Not that I'm blaming them or hung up on it, but I doubt that we'd be so unlucky again this year to cop two like that in the final quarter of a close-fought match.

The Pupuola decision also copped it on the ABC 'Offsiders' on Sunday morning, with Barry & Gerard describing it 'as bad a decision as you would see in any code this year'. Will be interesting to watch the Geisch justify how it wasnt given. And as for the umpires call that the 50m wasnt given because it was common sense approach not to, if the player didnt hear the call....please, he was 10m away! Consistency is all we want.

I may be wrong here, but the free kick that, I believe it was Sam Reid got just outside the 50, the one where the 50 metre penalty was not applied, didnt that kick into the forward 50 result in a goal anyway?

I mean, sure the 50metre penalty should have gone our way, but I believe Sam's kick into the 'hotspot' resulted in a goal anyway...didnt it? Or am I wrong?

Correct... The next goal we got after that non decision was the ROK goal to put us in front.

Last time we had a ROTTEN decision against the spirit and sense of the game when it mattered the most was the one against Leo 2006 out in Perth. We lost the game on that, the ump giving it was thrown out of the rest of the finals series as well as GF contention, and we went on to win the next game and play in the GF.

Based on that scenario, a bad (read horribbllle) decision against us went on to spur the boys into tooth and claw play, so we just may beat Geelong after all......And that ladies and gentlemen is how I see it today. Ask me again next week.
