I can assure you Cheer Squad that if the thing your travelling in catches fire you'd be panicking big time. Those people running from the Hindenburg weren't going for a midnight stroll.

Still I panic when I can't find my car keys so I'm not exactly an expert on panic..

Mitch morton would be more value than tommy walsh tomorrow IMO, he will get murdered by the cats defence, the guy is still learning the game! Ill have faith in the coaching panel though to select the best team they think is to play for a home qualifying final, although if we lose and I think we will, adelaide in adelaide wont be so daunting IMO. Feel sorry for morton, he at least deserved a full game. Great to have jude back.

Good to hear 3 of the 4 guys on AFL Teams on Fox tip us last night. Dermie is so much more entertaining than BT and he actually knows what he is talking about. I wonder of BT will ever apologise to Pykie?

And I agree with Al - no need to panic. I reckon Cats fans will be squirming tomorrow - if we win this have we become their bogey team?

I think that, as has been mentioned before, Walsh will be leading out to the pocket all afternoon. He will end up with about 5 stats and Scarlett will have about the same.

Was thinking much the same thing, good match up for us as Walsh only needs to harass and lead away from the ball

They all tipped Collingwood last week against West Coast.
Nothing like a good light bulb moment.

We're off to the Rising Sun tomorrow and because of the loss of Reid we'll go without any great expectations of a win, but looking forward to see what the blokes can do, especially Tommy Walsh. The coaches seem to have more confidence in his abilities than us RWOers:

Stone: Tommy?s last month has been really good. He?s just shown that he?s starting to understand the game a lot more now, and that?s taken time and hasn?t always been easy for him.

Crouch: I think he now understands his size and what he can do. He understands how to use his body and that he can be a bit more physical, which is different to where he comes from playing Gaelic football. For mine, that has been one of the biggest improvements in the last month and it?s funny how that then translates to taking a lot of marks and kicking a few more goals just by knowing you can control your area.

We also can?t underestimate the effect the senior players like Matt Spangher, Mitch Morton and Jarred Moore have had on Tommy?s development. Those on-field coaches, particularly Moore, are just invaluable.

Maxfield: He did play most of his footy at St Kilda as a defender, so he is just now starting to learn the subtleties of playing as a forward, including leading patterns and how to use his body. That?s starting to become a bit more instinctive for him now.

                    From the club website:http://www.sydneyswans.com.au/news/n...8/default.aspx
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I reckon that Walsh for Morton on the bench with the jacket was a decision made before the injury to Reid.

The last two games against finals opponents was always going to be a great chance to tweak some minor options like this ... gives both players a chance to prove themselves, just in case they are required. If Walsh goes well, as Morton did last week, gives the selectors more flexibility when considering match ups in the finals.

But really, if we find ourselves relying on our 22nd man to win us a flag, then we are clutching at straws.

From what I have seen of Tommy in ressies, he won't let anyone down.

But what if Tommy plays well this week. What happens with selection for the final round. Reid will be back, and Morton will be avaliable.

Is Tommy someone you'd take into finals, holding down a forward post against the best...

By that logic, we should only play 21 players against the Cats just in case whoever is the 22nd player picked plays too well...

a couple of comments as i havent read through this properly

firstly surely the passengers on titantic or hindenburg had more than enough reason to panic ? that is to say as almost all died surely it was justifiable. if we are going to criticis panic issues lets find something where people survivied - ie the melbourne earthquake of this year ?

secondly - what has happened to everitt ?
