Congrats Bucky!!!...my favourite when he was a Swan. His 4th quarter in the 2005 grand final was epic.

Tip of the hat to the man who kicked the winning goal in that famous game.

Great little player, who had a great sense of occasion.

Sad he didn't finish a Swan.

All the best Monty. You're always welcome in Bay 29 (especially if you buy the first round!).

Always remembered as the Swan who kicked the winning goal in our first premiership in 72 years. Always a Blood. Wishing him all the best.

Spoke to him at the Melbourne Family Day after the GF. Really nice bloke. Wish him all the best in whatever he does post AFL.

I will never forget that goal in the grand final (or the performance he put in that day). I look at the Premiership picture from that day that hangs on my wall everyday, and I immediately see in my mind that brilliant little duck to evade the tackle and the true snap he made.

About 5:20 in on the video below. Just watching that video made me realise how good a goal that goal before it from Big Bad Barry was. A pressure kick if there ever was one.

Good luck after footy Monty! You certainly will never be forgotten by any member of the Red and White faithful. The man that kicked the goal that broke our 72 year premiership drought. That is a story to tell for the ages

Good luck Monty and I wish you were able to stay a Swan, which we all consider you to be anyway. Winning Goal in the 4th Quarter and the look on y our face is a sight that stays with me. Bless

Obviously, it's important to make every thread possible about Davo- but if you watch that goal from Monty the reason he gets clear enough to have a shot on goal is that all the Eagles players are so concious of Davo (the man in Monty's way is watching Davo and not the ball, and goes to Davo instead of Monty). It's like Jordan getting double teamed and Paxson hitting the winning shot.
