When LRT GOT 17 POSSESSIONS IN THE 2005 GRAND FINAL AT CENTRE HALF BACK BEFORE HALF TIME as a recent convert from Rugby I thought all debate about his ability would have ended. I also remember what a great partnership he had with Leo Barry and then Heath Grundy before Ted showed what a great fullback he could be and LRT got injured/played injured.

He has always been at least as good a choice as Heath Grundy for CHB. Trouble is that in terms of team structure we have issues up forward as well that LRT can help with. If ever a FF or CHF is getting troublesome we have the option of moving him down back. One thing horse has not tried is putting Reg up forward again. Its where he started his career and he has developed in ability and confidence since then. If he could perform up forward the back and front 6 would possibly be even better.
We have them where we want them, everything is going according to plan!

Thanks GoSwannie - hope it doesn't spoil an otherwise great victory for you or anyone else that visits RWO.

Interesting opinion, whom of our other talls do you think is more versatile. Key defender, key forward and relief ruckman?

I think that is the main point, yesterday the Hyphen was BOG and if not bloody close. Most of his other games were good but nothing special, played his role. But all we can ask, and all LRT has given his all to help the boys win.

Tough one, but who would be our most versatile ruck, mid, forward? I realise it doesn't answer your question but would your answer to mine be Mummy or Goodes?
Your question is rhetorical because no one else has been asked to play all three positions since maybe Hall, but Reid has shown glimpses.

Agreed, given the 3 positions he covers are generally considered the most difficult to play. I was a bit suprised.

There was one with more, when a poster got upset and deleted all of his posts. Happily though he quickly returned to the RWO fold.

I was annoyed this morning, but a couple of apologies have been gratefully received.

I remember that poster. A complete moron from memory.

He was superb yesterday, it is as simple as that. Slotted back into the backline like he had never been away. I have always thought a lot of LRT. One of the most ungainly, awkward looking footballers you could ever imagine, but an ultimate team player, and one guy that will never leave it on the bench - 110% effort guaranteed, no matter what role he is playing for the team.

The most admirable thing about him is that he has given his best efforts wherever he has been asked to play. He hasn't always had the greatest of games but he has busted his guts trying. I think there's little doubt that his best position is in the backline but the coaching staff have determined that our balance is best when he plays forward considering who we have on our list. Yesterday in defence, without Reg, he was outstanding. How lucky are we that when we lose a key tall defender that we have someone as good as LRT to throw back there?

I also agree that he also should be wearing a Norm Smith medal from 05 (wll him or Fozzy anyway).
