It was only last weekend that I learned of the other players' disdain for him for what they saw was a lack of focus on what the rest of them were regarding as quite an important day. But maybe I should just take that as another sign of a bloke that can't hold two thoughts in his head at the same time.
Whilst I do have a lot of time for the bloke, I don't think he's the sharpest tool in the shed!
Anyway we agree on the main thing - he's going to look very ordinary after Friday night and he'll have lots of time to devote to his kids for the next few months after this weekend.

Even without his swans history I think we would all agree that there are a long list of black and white footballers that deserve the tag "Arrogant Tosser" ahead of Jolly. The man has bled into the legendary swan headgear, and for that I can forgive him almost anything. That said-crush him Friday boys!

Yes, I agree Jewels. Meanwhile - what's the rule on taking injured players into finals?

        Didak Dawes Magpies Injury Concerns

        "
Onlookers failed to spot Didak - who is trying to recover from a calf injury - at today's session at Gosch's Paddock, and he was definitely not a part of the main group. But there was better news when it came to injured teammate Chris Dawes, who appeared to move freely - running at top pace and kicking unrestricted - raising hope that he could recover from a knee injury in time to assist Darren Jolly in the ruck against the Swans.
Dawes did not appear to be wearing the brace he used yesterday, however Eade admitted the structurally important big man might require a painkilling injection to play.

While most of the discussion this week has centred on who will replace Dawes as the second ruckman, should he fail to come up, Didak's absence has added further intrigue to the Pies selection situation.
Small forward Ben Sinclair could be in line for a recall to replace Didak, who was subbed out of Saturday night's win against West Coast after copping a knock to the calf.
"He still has got a bit of discomfort so it just depends on how he runs and how he moves, and we've got to take fatigue into account and obviously the six-day break," Eade said.
Eade said the Pies only had two viable option should Dawes not play - play reserve ruckman Cameron Wood or bring in young key forward Jackson Paine and then find someone, such as Tyson Goldsack or Nathan Brown, to support Jolly in small bursts.
"[We were] told it's a grade-half medial strain. So there is a little bit of a strain there," Eade said of Dawes' knee injury.
"But with the impact, it had a bit of bone bruising. So there was a bit of pain there and I think that's what causes the limp," he said.
"We think that will subside reasonably quickly, and then it will be just a management issue for Chris to be able to cope with that."

Don't think there are "rules" but there are certainly risks.

Some people need to get over the Jolly hate.

His wife had post natal depression and needed to be closer to their family. Anyone with kids and half a brain would understand that.

I thought this article ok, maybe a little arrogant, as I do remember that when he was having trouble rucking when he first went to the Pies, he phoned our rucking coach(?Taubert) for lots of advice. But I don't suppose he could mention that now.
