    Mummy V Jolly

This will be one of the key contests on Friday.

With Swan back in and a fit again Pendlebury and Thomas, ruck ascendancy will be imperative.

Would love to see the Mummy crush(read: KILL) Jolly. I personally was never a fan of Jolly, and even watching replays of his goal in the 05 GF doesnt inspire any fondness. The Mummy on the other hand is a cult hero and on his day one of the best rucks in the league. He's more than capable of ripping him a new one.

With question marks over Dawes I think the ruck is an area we can exploit.

I'm still a fan of DJ, and that was a huge goal he kicked in the GF.

He's not the kind of guy to get monstered, but he looks set for a tough day at the office:

Dawes does little to inspire hope | AFL | Fox Sports

While most Magpies players participated in light training drills at St Kilda beach on Tuesday, all Dawes and Didak did was go for a walk, then some stationary handballing, with Didak throwing in a few short kicks.

Dawes was obviously limping while he walked and wearing tracksuit pants to hide his knee strapping.
The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible news

Who is next in line for the relief ruck if Dawes misses? Cloke?

        Mummy V Jolly.

        No contest.

Jolly will be Mummy's beyatch. (Did I spell that right?)
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Having two genuine ruckmen against one and a spare part could be a big advantage. My main concern is that the hitout to advantage figures have not been going our way with any consistency. If first hand on the ball leads to possessions, Collingwood are likely to have a tough night. We have to beat their sharks and do a bit of our own sharking.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Jolly was pivotal in their win against us late in the year.

I looked at the stats for that game, and while we comfortably won the hit outs (approx 65-45) we didnt dominate as a result.

Agree that this will be one of the match ups of the game. Will mean naught if our smalls get smashed in the center... DJ will get his fair share of the taps, however I would start Pyke on him and run him into the ground. Leave Mummy till the last half of the game and kick butt then..

We need to hold the pies till half time and put the A team in the middle go for it. Mummy, Jack, Kennedy and ROK. If we can hold them, they should run out of legs later in the game..!

                Swans by 36 points!

I for one would like to see Mr Jolly worked into the ground by Mummy and Pykey, and leave the ground in tears after a good thrashing. I do not like him now that he doesn't play for us.

Personally, have never forgiven him and his wife for having a September baby and losing the 2006 GF!! Haven't they heard of induction of labour for God's sake??!!! Hope Mummy monsters him.

He was pivotal in their win on the weekend too, making Naitanui look a lot less than 'All Australian'.

I hope they test his groin "twinge" out with some high leaps and some sprints around the ground.

Hope Moose and Mummy bury him in a bone crunching sandwich tackle. That would make me smile.

I noticed that too (groin), agree with early reply, start Pyke on him to get the juice out of him then let Mummy to dispose of the pulp.

Mumford will give a greater effort for the whole game - Jolly is a smart ruckman who can make big plays and that is what we have to stop - a good hard tackle early on will test him out !!!
