Very good round up of the game from the player point of view. He got it about right. I thought Rhyce was a bit wayward with his kicking early and his decision making wasn't great in the first quarter. Strangely similar to the last time we played Collingwood. He played well after that though.

Rhyce said in an interview some time ago they kept track and had their own competition.
Sibling rivalry.Comment

Josh Kennedy characterises them in this incarnation. If Ferrari made a bulldozer, it would be him.

Almost 48 hours on and I finally have a chance to post here. What a game, what a weekend. Finished my post-game libations at the Beverly Hills Hotel at about 1am and, kebab in hand, wandered home savouring a truly wonderful evening. Cricket all day yesterday and a soccer presentation last night has left me tired and hoarse (or is that Horse?) but elated. I recorded the replay and watched it this morning and had a tear in my eye as the boys sang the song. Great atmosphere Friday night (as there can be at ANZ once you get enough people in there), wonderful crowd, loyal passionate fans cheering us on. I was pretty confident by quarter time but the jitters in the 4th did worry me slightly. They also meant I had to delay my call to the wife to get her to book flights by half an hour!
My 13yo son now gets to go to his first GF after being too young in 05 & 06. Needless to say he's stoked, especially considering he has 4 days immersed in Swans culture this week at the State Cup thingy in Albury.
The only downer on the night, apart from Ted's injury, was the Collingwood supporters. They were profane and abusive to our supporters on the train to the game, and the old ducks on the bus on the way home were sour and ungracious. We got the bus singing the club song, as you do, and they had to pipe up with some retorts. The thing to do is smile ruefully and keep your mouth shut or, better yet, congratulate your opponent. Miserable crones.
Anyway, that aside it was a fantastic night and Saturday will be even better. 7am flight & then MCG here we come!Today's a draft of your epitaphComment

Just back in Melbourne after journeying to the city at the centre of the universe. Great effort by the team. We are right in this game they call the Grand Final.Comment

It is not only Collingwood supporters that can be ungracious. A Swans fan grabbed the microphone at Central when we got back and sang a silly ditty to lambast Collingwood. Not surprisingly this upset some Collingwood supporters who (appropriately) muttered 'why can't you just enjoy the moment' and then started to cheer on the Hawks whom they expected would be our opponents, correctly as we now know. It was a bit unpleasant for just a moment.Comment

Re: Swans v Collingwood Prelim Final
For the past few years I had to listen to Collywobbles sing their song in the bus after the match.
This time was our turn. Also gave it to them after the game shouting Sydneey at the top of my voice whenever I saw one outside the stadium. Best day of the year so far.Comment
