And Richmond finished where? Stating the obvious there is more to a team than a midfield that constantly plays on!

          Indeed.

My point, which I'm sure you clearly understood, was that the team that wins the outside running battle is probably going to win the the game. Richmond finished outside of the 8 but don't discount what they tactically used to beat the two grand finalists comprehensively.

I was just looking through the statistics of our main onballers and I cant remember a season where we had such a depth advantage. Most teams will have 10-12 blokes who can have a run through the midfield, we follow that model but the sheer class and depth of our players is really impressive.

Looking at the stats we have 6 guys who averaged over 20 touches:

            Kennedy
            Jack
            O'Keefe
            McVeigh
            Bolton
            Hannabery

That is an outstanding effort for our top possession mids
Then we have Jetta who adds the pace and incredible skill on the outside and Bird who has been a real role player this year, taking on some big jobs
Once your finished with those 8 blokes the opposition then has to deal with Goodsey having a run in there, he's started to cause havoc now he's hit form.
Last but not least Benny Mc will push up the field and we have a talented young player like parker subbing in.

I really think that those 10 guys would rival anyone in the comp and its a testament to smart recruiting, development and coaching by the club.
Hopefully this provides an advantage for us against hawthorn because we are going to have to win the midfield battle if we're going to shut down their ridiculously talented forward line.

When "they still call me Bruce" did the club run through on Club Brownlow scoring last night, our entire midfield had made double figures. Team votes were 95, I couldnt remember any other club having this score or level of talent balance. Just a thought. I dont know if there is any team Brownlow ladder published but it reflects what is being said here.
"We talked five times. I called him twice, and he called me twice."   :D
