Cracked a Carlton Draught with a mate over lunch today for his 30th. The trivia question-
"Who was the Sydney Swans first captain after relocating from South Melbourne in 1982?"

I went to Denmark this year...red and white....and watched a soccer international friendly where they beat a team that had yellow as one of their colours...(Australia)...

I think I will sing the Danish national anthem instead of ours and we will be home

As Jack Thompson once famously said in a non alcoholic drink TV ad, "Now we all get some sleep".

Add, as someone already has contributed: our Captain was injuried in Round 6 in both years.

                Also:

We lost to Adelaide in both years at the SCG. (Like this year, only one of two losses at the SCG that year).
We lost to St Kilida in both years at Docklands. (Like this year, only lost that year at Docklands).
We beat Carlton in both years at Docklands. (Another rarity)
We beat Geelong (in the home and away season) in both years at the SCG. (A general rarity).
We beat Essendon in both years at Docklands. (Another general rarity).

Further, 5 games against Hawthorn in September since 1987 have gone LWLWL. Due for a win this time. Witness:

I have a friend travelling from overseas to come to the game with me this year. He came over in 2005 as well but gave it a miss in 2006.

(I just have to work out the implications of the fact that we went to the 1996 granny together too. But he didn't have to travel for that one because he lived in the country. So maybe I can disregard it as irrelevant...)

Found another one: it is to do with Stuart Dew and leap/olympic years:

                        2004. Port Adelaide premiership player
                        2008 Hawthorn premiership player
                        2012 Sydney premiership assistant coach???

Have to pull you up a little here. Did you seriously expect to find a Pies fan in a library? Really? Seriously?

Would be so cruel for one to be there - they'd spend the rest of their day wondering why the rectangular objects they collected won't fit in their VCR.

I bought a three-pack of lighters last night. I got red, white and yellow.
The next packet had brown, yellow and red.

I was driving down Rocky Point Road and there was a white sign taped to a pole on the median strip. Beneath the sign was a sizeable piece of red fabric taped to the pole. Both were flapping in the wind as i was driving past, catching my eye. It was quite striking. It made me feel happy. I think we will win.
