If course you take it with a grain of salt.
All talk and gossip, but kind of relevant as it appears that something happened.
I heard that it was Buddy who was the one who called him out, but didn't mention that as it was not being said as frequently and probably less reliable, not that any of it really is.

I remember the Round/Quade thing going down when it did. All kept hush hush.
Club should come out and address these rumors and remove the speculation.

Yes I take it all with a big 2kg sack of salt. But if people are going to say they "heard" a rumour at least say where it came from. Big difference if it came from a toothless guy at a bus stop wearing a Hawks cap vs one of those irreputable "news" websites vs a club media release. To just say "I heard it" is tossing fuel on a fire that should be extinguished. Not helpful.

I think you could safely say the mumblings of a toothless guy wearing a Hawks cap living at the bus stop is likely
to be more credible to a "report" or "story" on a so called news website.

It's all toothless guy in a Hawks cap unless there is a link as far as I'm concerned.
Even then, not always 100% accurate.

            This is BS on Tippo

            I'll give u N example

Nick smith had 4 kicks where he missed the ???? In the GF

He hit grass 5m wide of his man twice last two qtrs under no pressure

Do we really believe guys like Nick smith who demand a lot from his fellow players could be an example of saying something like the above comments to tippo
"be tough, only when it gets tough"

So Tippet was in the top 3 in the B&F when he got injured.

Some of the hysteria around him and his non value to the team since the weekend has been astonishing. Some pretty short memories among some posters...

Yep I agree with you. Who thinks we would have made the GF without Tippett's contribution in the first part of the year? C'mon people this is off season hysteria.

Indeed. AND he was still in single figures (7th) after Round 18, I think after his hamstring went? Followed by other mishaps. He remains a valuable player, needs only to boost his fitness to be a guaranteed top 18 pick.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

No argument from me about Tippet's value to the team prior to getting injured.
However, I'm not astonished that some of us rate his performance on Grand Final Day as sub-standard (to what we expect on this occasion).

Did he pick up significant votes for any games post injury?

Though it's possible that Buddy's injury affected the performance of our other forwards? That is, one thing that impressed me in our two winning finals, is that our marking targets had really good separation and the smaller players often seemed to arrive at just the right time. With Buddy's reduced running power, our forwards were getting in each other's way a lot more.

I've said elsewhere, as others have also, that the injury to Lance was our biggest single issue. You've pointed out another dimension of the problem.

Finals match - Buddy gets injured - trainer runs out waving the white towel?
                            Don't think so!
Although injured, Buddy still stood-up on G.F. Day.
I believe Tippett should have stepped up at least a notch under the circumstances.

would it be fair to say that Keiran Jack and Nick Smith could have had better games on GF day ?

Nick Smith hitting grass with kicks with one leading directly to a goal and the other lead to a goal a few mins later..........both kicks not under pressure.......looked like they were kicked by a drunk !!!

Kieran turning into traffic on more then several occasions in and around the ruck when he could have backed out under no pressure with direct turnovers and Doggies breaking away to set up play and field position

I personally think there was 8 t0 10 players in the Swans line up who didn't match the clean hands, lateral vision and hunger of the Dogs.........and that was the way it was !

BEVO HAVING PICKEN SNUFF OUT Rampe as our only playmaker in the backline 2nd and 3rd qtr was a master stroke that Longmire didn't match and had others in the backline not up to task on transition to get out of our 50

poor young Mills leaving his worst game of the season to the GF............he is a gem and will only get better and better but not many had a go at him on the forum

pointing the finger at Tippo by himself..............doesnt make sense to me

there was 22 players who could have stood up and coaching calls that were a bit off the pace...........time to move on for me

AG , The fact that Tippett is on a salary of double of many of the other players doesn't suggest he should be more heavily scrutinized by club members resonate with you ? I was so happy with his form early in the season but he is on buddy like money without Buddy like performance. My personal view is we made a dud choice here in the fact that we must judge our list on the basis of being a grand final contender each year.
