Correction Meg...remember according to the MRP his head didn't touch the ground [emoji6] . I'm still bewildered over that.

Of course it never touched the ground.

Good news if Kurt is only out for a week. He may have dodged a bullet there.
I'll happily reassess my opinion of the deal if he comes back and clunks 10+ marks, gets 30+ hitouts and kicks 4+ goals per game once he's back.

Buddy (and probably Sam Reid) are better for having Tippett in the side. Tippett taking the tallest defender frees up attention that would otherwise be placed on Buddy, giving Bud freedom to roam and do what he does best.

The other thing is that with Tippett in the side, forward entries aren't so Buddy-centric. I think our forward structures are either best with Tip&Bud or with neither of them (in the latter instance, we seem to have multiple avenues to goal, including a greater mid-field contribution, making us far less predictable). When Bud is the key forward, he is double (or triple) teamed ... & we still look to him (he demands the ball) but there's only so much he can do.

Tip also is (IMO) the most effective of our ruckmen (not elite, but better than Naismith - at this stage, Sink & Cameron).

For all the bemoaning his salary and time in the treatment & rehab rooms, I think Tip is an integral element of our seasonal structure (his going missing at the pointy end of the season is undeniable though).

Commentary I've never heard in connection with K Tippett since he joined the Swans - "courageous", "selfless", "inspirational".

Never will. Seriously. He is a flog.

                  A flog? What crap.

I starting to think he does not care, just collects his large pay cheque every week.
Well it's hard to get a ruck hit out when mummy had 62 of them!

He's just come back from injury (again) - straight up against Mummy. give him a week or two before you call curtains on him

Sorry, but that's a comment on his quality as a human being rather than as a footballer, and I've never seen any evidence he's less than a genuinely decent bloke. It's exactly the same comment I heard from a heap of bogan SEN callers about Adam Goodes in his last season, trying to justify the booing. Anyone who uses it needs to take a good hard look in the mirror (and, at a minimum, examine whether they could make a more insightful critique - "flog" is pretty meaningless). That said, Tippo's grand final performance absolutely stunk and he's been less than ordinary in the games he's actually played this year. It's not his fault he's injury prone, but the bottom line is he's gone from All Australian contention midway through last year to being an absolute plodder. His injuries last year (especially the sling) may not have helped but at the moment he's a liability rather than an asset.
My opinion is objective truth in its purest form

Well, I for one am surprised that he lasted longer than 8 minutes without stubbing his big toe.
                        Kudos.

Please explain what you mean by this - and in doing so it'd be great to hear how you differentiate yourself from those that mindlessly slung this tag on Goodsey.....

Hope he's better for the run, but he has a fair way to go to justify his price tag.

1 kick and 4 handpasses ain't much output for what we're paying him.

Everyone is correct. It was rash and thoughtless of me to call out Tippo as a flog. Unthinking of me. Perhaps it was a response to what I saw last night - a player who is confused and unable to execute the skills required of a senior Swan. A shadow of the great Adelaide Crows player that he once was. do apologise. I accept that I should have referred to him as an flop.

I tend to agree too - particularly given the huge money we've paid for him.

Bless you. I am embarrassed about last night's effort. Tippo had a few mates in the 'absence of ticker' department. It made me feel sick.
