I'm just going to keep telling myself that we are doing the right thing getting rid of all this depth. I trust the club implicitly, but Heath's loss still grates on me.

Our recruiters haven't let us down before.

      Just remember that everyone.

Some of these kids are great and they'll probably NEVER get a chance to play at seniors level at the moment. Let them go and find games.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Well the NEAFL team is going to unrecognisable next year. Jesse for captain?

I also thought he was a very good prospect, but the timing just isn't right. His career opportunity is now, and we can't use him for another couple of years. It's only fair to let him go.

Sad to see all three go, but I am pleased at the same time especially TDL...he has a lot of potential.......this time of year breaks my heart

We did the right thing with TDL as well. Pick 47 might be handy.

Leaving us plenty of existing talent plus lots of space for drafting. Don't mind it at all.

The last time we didn't trade a player in was in 2003. 2 minutes to go...

For the future fine, but were at the point where we have to seize the moment. A premiership in 2013 should be our main focus and yet what we've achieved to this point has not increased our capacity to win; quite the contrary IMO.

Oh well, let's see what we can get done in the drafts.

                        Trade period over!

                        Summary

                        In: Pick 46, Pick 66
Out: Trent Dennis-Lane, Campbell Heath, Matthew Spangher, Pick 85

                        Draft picks: 23, 45, 47, 66, 67, 103

Currently 35 players on the senior list and 2 on the rookie list. More delistings can still occur of course between now and the drafts.

These 3 players have opened up cash in the salary cap. We either continue to go after Tippett in the ND and PSD or use the cash to resign key players on better contracts. No news on Jude yet. We have now reduced our list by the minimum 3. The first list lodgement is by 31/10/2012.

We've already delisted Moore and Seaby plus Heath was on the rookie list. So we've cut 4.

I thought we were light on for depth and we've just traded out Campo, Spang and TDL for a net gain of pick 47 & 66.
Five picks at the ND at present but I don't know how we'll cope with even a few injuries in 2013. Assume there is a strategy to all this and we have our eye on some mature recruits we expect to be available between picks 46 and 67.

The Tippett affair has stuffed us around big time.

From memory rookies now come under the cap. Happy to be proved wrong on this. My point was about cash being freed up.
