The key here is that you've said South Australia, not Adelaide.Comment

Yes, but if you take 1? hours at least to get to Southern Cross station in the first place, then have to travel to Geelong, to fight for the few tickets, that cost more than they should, to be outnumbered a zillion to one by heckling Cats fans, it is not worth the effort. If you opt to take the car it takes a helluva long time to even get out of the car park. It is the steady erosion of the opportunity to see our boys LIVE is the problem.Comment

I am especially excited by rounds 11-13. Back-to-back games in Adelaide presents a splendid opportunity to take a few weeks annual leave to spend in lovely Adelaide, taking in two games and with no need to waste money on a return flight back to Sydney. The bye in the middle provides an extra week to sample the delights of Rundle Mall. I'll have to see if I can find a life size inflatable Kurt Tippett to take with me to accompany me as I stroll down the mall and through the lovely parklands that Adelaide has to offer.
I like the draw because it eliminates most of those weird Sunday twilight games in Melbourne we had last year.
Disappointed we are playing North in Launceston. I like playing them at Etihad as we ALWAYS outnumber their fans altho' having seen the fabulous Tassie Swans contingent this year in Round 5 I expect we will again hold sway. Home away from home.
Glad we have Eagles at Subi too.Comment

I predict you'll be seeking a trade "home" at the earliest opportunity.

It is disappointing the Melbourne situation with 1 less game, especially for our supporter base down there. For me, it might mean rejuggling my memberships to more focus on Sydney than Melbourne, but either way there will be plenty of Km's on the clock as we chase going back to backbring on season 2013 I say!!!

Membership is really important to the club so it would be good if they could find a way to not lose members if the game entry doesn't suit.
Thanks to all clearing up North game...would have been disappointed if I booked the wrong flights.Comment

Club spin but good form to move quickly to communicate with Vic members.
I sent the following email in reply and suggest all Vic members do something similar so that the club gets the message loud and clear that we will not accept any price gouging here.
"Thanks Andrew for the email. It is appreciated as I am bitterly disappointed that there will only be four games in Melbourne next year. Geelong does not count for most Vic members.
As I am sure there was financial inducement for the club to participate in Hobart and Wellington games, and the fact that you will have to compensate one less Melbourne club for the attendance of Vic members at their home game, I trust we will see a commensurate reduction in the membership fees for Victorian supporters.
For the aforementioned reasons, such a reduction would not impact on the bottom line for the club.
Regards."
Yep, i just replied to the email saying, basically, that I am EXPECTING membership(vic based) to be cheaper in 2013 considering there's only 4 games in Melbourne.
I urge all Vic based members to do the same!!!Comment

Do get a bit peeved with the number of games in melbourne. Every single time one of these clubs moves their game away from melbourne we seem to cop it down here. So now no saints, no north. And the truth is we draw almost as many supporters to the saints and north games as those clubs do themselves. I've been to etihad where i reckon there were as many swans fans as north ones and the crowd would be significantly larger than freo north or port north
anyway i guess it was inevitable that the more non victorian sides the fewer games we get here - but i hope the melbourne office works on its retentionDoes God believe in Atheists?Comment

Get a "supporters" membership if you want to keep your membership years continuous.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

With the Kardinia Park redevelopment well on track....I would say 1/2 completed, there is a great chance it will be full capacity by the time we play down here. I am definitely going next year having missed the last 2 games there. I only have a 15 minute walk to get to the game.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

From memory when the Bulldogs stopped selling us a game and the games in Sydney went from 12 to 11 there was no reduction (in fact possibly an increase?) in our memberships. I hope it's not the same for Melbourne fans; it was annoying enough when there was no change for losing 1 of 12 games, 1 of 5/6 is obviously a much bigger whack to take- a 20% reduction in goods surely dictates some kind of reduction in price.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment
