Not happy at all as they are gradually taking all the games away from us. Geelong doesn't count as a Melbourne venue - it is a hole and overpriced. Surely with all the Melbourne clubs still in the comp we could wangle more games down here. Not travelling interstate either as husband is now retired and money doesn't grow on trees anymore.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

At the risk of causing a civil war, we have members on here who travel from Outer Western Sydney, the Central Coast, Canberra (and many other places!)- all of which can be a longer trek than Melbourne to Geelong... If they bitch about the travel they're regularly told to suck it up and not NARF but when Melbourne fans say Geelong doesn't count because it's so far away there's usually consensus that it's a fair trek.
I can understand seating capacity being made as an excuse for not going, but certainly not travelling time.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

Can't you remain a member without game entry?
Membership is really important to the club so it would be good if they could find a way to not lose members if the game entry doesn't suit.
Thanks to all clearing up North game...would have been disappointed if I booked the wrong flights.Comment

Hobart...that godforsaken hole......I prefer travelling to Perth than going down to the southern end of our island.....but I'll go. Shows how much I love this club."The Dog days are over, The Dog days are gone" Florence and the MachineComment

Hobart is a great place. Might even live there one day.Comment

Membership options are up on the website and the Melbourne ones seem to be priced the same as last season. I'm afraid I won't be paying $335 for Platinum with Premiership Club for 4 games in melbourne - especially as it seems that I won't be able to make use of the added entry to games at the MCG next season, as there is probably only one game down there I'll be doing as more than a day trip."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Try Montana and a hungry Grizzly Bear to deal with on your journey. No, I meant bear, got rid of wife who was more grizzly.Nothing like a good light bulb moment.Comment

I am especially excited by rounds 11-13. Back-to-back games in Adelaide presents a splendid opportunity to take a few weeks annual leave to spend in lovely Adelaide, taking in two games and with no need to waste money on a return flight back to Sydney. The bye in the middle provides an extra week to sample the delights of Rundle Mall. I'll have to see if I can find a life size inflatable Kurt Tippett to take with me to accompany me as I stroll down the mall and through the lovely parklands that Adelaide has to offer.Nothing like a good light bulb moment.Comment

Last year for the AFL Full Bloodded platinum membership, I paid $255 for 5 games plus the Geelong game( as well as all the other things attached to it). This year its $250 for 4 games plus the Geelong game plus all the other stuff. A drop of $5 for one less game........am gonna need to think about it.
- 2 of the three games I'll get to (Dogs and Melbourne) will have 8 men and a dog at them, so I hardly see a great bonus in AFL members reserve over general admin.
- I probably will only have 1 weekend (either Pies or Hawthorn game) where I'll be in Melbourne for more than a day, hence maybe going to other games. Easily can buy general admin @ $20 odd for any games I want to go to and still be in front.
It means I'll save $90 overall on my membership as I'll still hold the same membership in Sydney, which can pay for tickets to the game in Hobart, or perhaps Adelaide. I was very tempted to go back to a straight Silver membership for Melbourne and upgrade from a country membership to full Red zone 11 + Premiership in Sydney, but its actually cheaper to do what I've chosen by $100 or so. It gives me three less games in Sydney (8 vs 11), but there are always matches I can't get to or don't want to go to, so that isn't really an issue."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Premiership Club Gold has gone down by $5 (from $250 to $245)
Full Blooded Gold has gone down by $10 (from $170 to $160)
Full Blooded Gold Junior has stayed exactly the same as last year ($55)
Full Blooded Gold Family (two adults and up to four kids - $370 - same as last year)
I think we have been slightly gouged by the club.Comment
