Another in the last quarter the ball up before Jetta's shot at goal, Malceski does a kamakaze dive at the ball knowing he almost would get his hands kicked off as the hawks player hacked at it. If the Hawk got clean purchase he would have kicked it clear of the contest and who knows what would happen there. However Malceski's desperation fluffed the kick (should have gotten a free kick for kicking in danger) and the ricochet fell to Pyke who hacked it out of mid air and Jetta smartly playing in front took a mark from 50. Rest is history of course.

Has disappeared along with dropping the ball in a tackle. There was a few where we had some fingers realigned in that game from memory.

It seems to me that there was a fairly even and widespread contribution across the board.

It points to one major advantage in the Swans camp. We had no fringe players on deck for the 2012 grand final. Everyone took their chance to DO something.

So many but loved Goodes' effort to goal in the last quarter. The ball is pumped in long and Gibson, the third man up specialist, is hovering, but wary of Goodesy. Just as Gibson sets himself to launch and spoil, Goodes ever so subtly leans into him, nudging him towards the pack, thereby denying Gibson leverage/room to leap and spoil. Goodes has just given himself a metre which is enough for him to receive the crumb, swivel and snap! Goal!!!!!!! Goodesyyyyyy!

It's goals like that, that let you know the ball is bouncing your way.
It could have bounced anywhere, but instead it rolled true and thru for a goal.

Good point. Contrast that with Milne's effort v Collingwood a couple of years back.

Yep, amazing to think of the Milne one in comparison, really. We've shared some history the Saints and us, lack of success and all that. I barracked hard for them that day in 2010 and felt for them when the ball eluded Milne. Still, Goodesy's nudge was subtly brilliant and I'm claiming it as a glorious one percenter on a glorious day!

Pyke's kick out of the air with about 90 seconds to go was huge. Gave Jetta the chance to go back and kill 30 seconds and keep the ball up forward for us.

I think there are several games over recent seasons where a Marty tackle has saved us a goal and probably won us the game.
