I would even go so far to say that the beaches area is a beast of its own! Maroubra and Paddington are worlds apart :P

An article just posted on the Herald Sun website about the lower number of rookies likely to be taken in this years RD. Anyone know what it says as I don't subscribe.

It seems an eternity since any NSW kids were drafted, I just hope the academies start producing players soon.

It is so confusing as the terminology used in the rule change is very vague other than to say 2013. whoever maintains the AFL Website is hopeless. Half the rules are not even posted on the site. You have to go looking for them in the search engine.

With Academy players can we take all of them in the rookie draft Liz? In other words Rampe, Naismith & Jack are all academy players can we Rookie Draft them plus Richards & Joel Tippett? This is so confusing.

Agreed. I had to go elsewhere to find out what the mini-draft was all about. There was nothing about the signing of delisted free agents. You'd think with the effort that they're putting in to keep the game in the press all year round with drafts, trades etc that they'd have something on their website that explained everything very clearly.

You want something as confusingly complex as drafting rules explained clearly? I take my hat off to those in the clubs that can navigate their way through the drafting rules maze.

So as of today, the Swans have the fewest players on their main list at 37 and hoping that Tippett makes it 38. Some other clubs are already at the maximum 40 plus 4 rookies so won't be calling out any names next Tuesday.

If we only take Tippett in the PSD, we are eligible to take up to a further 5 rookies. I really hope we do take at least another 3 or 4 as there has been a lot of very good players appear off rookie lists and I wouldn't like to think we won't take close to our full allocation.
