Last time i bought food at the footy the chips were soggy and still white, the pie was frozen in the middle and microwaved, the coke was semi cold and they charged me 20 bucks for the privilege.

That was back in 2010 and i have never bought food since at the footy.

And what even more annoying is that spotless, the catering company who runs all his terrible food, is run by people who sit on afl boards. Another terrible COI that the AFL is drowning in.

The trick is to lobby the existing contractor who I would suggest has a long term contract (they normally have 5-10year contracts), to provide better, healthier, non food poisoning options. This can be done by several different methods; Getting all fans to sign a petition, direct Online lobbying, lobby the CA, lobby the Swans, go Viral and create an anti caterer campaign or line or go to the press with a petition.
      This is complete b_u_l_l_s_h_i_t!!!!
The contract is awarded to the highest price, not the best food!!!!
Then the contractor has to price gouge and cut corners to achieve a return.
You can have multiply food contractors at any site, just look at any food and wine festival.
This is nothing more than a con.
Any decent admin team can cope with multiply contractors, it what any half bake business does every day of the week!!
Once we are not viewed as a ATM machine, then we can have decent food!
PS More than happy to fund the expense of having some Brazilian BQ experts when next there is a home game!

Actually isn't Delaware North the sole catering licensee? A good point was made that even with competing caterers, they would still settle on a price level that would be profitable for both/all caterers.

Yes Delaware North have the contract for all the SCG food outlets, corporate events and boxes. The one and only thing I will give ANZ is that they use multiple companies, giving a much better choice for food.

And what's with the "Made from Beer" phrase?

Is it Beer or it "Made from Beer"?

I think it's an important destinction because after a few hours in the pub, I go to the bathroom and the result is most definitely "Made from Beer" . . . . . but I wouldn't recomend drinking it.
Although I suppose it's possible the SCG caterers are running some sort of sinister recycling system, and they really are serving piss? And not just in the colloquial sense.
I think it stopped being beer in 1981 when they started putting chemical brewing agents in the beer. When I first poured a beer in 1974 brewers not only made the beer but they also made the recipes for the beer. Now all the big breweries have laboratories full of chemists making the recipes. There is no such thing at a major brewery as a Head Brewer in the Products department. He or she only manages the brewing process now. Sad.

The only ones that have real beer that is made without chemical, except the ones the government makes them put in, are the small brewers. I would like to make my own without any chemical. By the way the reason wine and many other alcohol has antioxidents (chemical ones), preservatives etc is by government regulation. Believe me the winemakers don't want them in the product. The wine in France doesn't have them and it is far superior to drink and I never get a headache.

At no time did I say the food was better. So get your glasses out. I was making the point that the management of big venues only want to deal with one caterer. They don't want to deal with multiple caterers. The reason for this is because it is a nightmare trying to coordinate and deal with one catering company let alone two or more. Mentioning a food and wine festival is just stupidity. They are run by industry bodies or governments to showcase food in their state or cities. They are definitely a nightmare I know I have participated in one.

The SCG Trust don't give a @@@@ if the food is any good they only care about the return they get from the catering license. The way they do it at Skoda is very interesting and it can be done but it would be hard work for whover is the Catering Manager. The other thing is getting the payments from the caterers as those wouldn't be pay up front 5 year deals, they would be either on month to month or yearly.

Pies at any football ground are no good! Unless they're losing by 10 goals ... then I like the Pies at the footy
