Thank goodness for the Tippett Affair, or these sorts of topics would have been the mainstay of the off-season.

This thread is so full of bovine excrement I have had to go and get nose plugs. All I know is that just as as good big man will out mark a good little man, a good smart footballer will out think a good dumb one. Brandon's 98 merely shows he has brains and knows how to use them in the academic sense. Let us hope he puts them to good use on the footy field as well.

I disagree, it is full of a lot of bull@@@@ though.

Yes Al I agree I forgot entirely the reason for the thread. Oh! Resie Watchers! I don't know if there are any (use Americanism) Geeks watching the Resies but who gives a damn! I don't I just like to know their opinions, which generally are very informed, of what they think of the new crop and how they see them fitting into the Two's.

Maybe you should recheck that score. Are you sure it wasn't 9.81? Because if it was we would all have to write retractions and Kieran would become the smart brother. So a lot depends on the placement of that decimal point!

PS: The reason we have to resort to this sort of stuff is that we never have players brought up on Assault charges, or thrown out of places for drunk and disorderly behaviour. The Bloods culture may be great for winning Premierships, but awful for winning news headlines, especially in the off season. Once again: Thanks Tippo.

May well be heresy to say this. but Melb and WA players are so recognisable by Joe Public in their home towns that they get away with NOTHING.

Possible that the much lower profile the Swans have around town renders then a little invisibility?

Haven't hear anything adverse about any Giants either. Just saying...

It is very ironic that nearly as much excrement has now been excreted from keyboards about the original 'excrement'. That bends my mind.

Meanwhile back to watching the ressies . . . . is the NEAFL the best competition for our reserves team?
Would we be better off playing in a competition where ther weren't any restrictions on how many listed players we're allowed on the ground?
Would playing the GWS, Lions and Suns reserves on a rotating basis be more useful?

For the NEAFL to be a great comp it needs to be a mix of the best sides in the ACT, NSW & QLD comps all playing each other. There are problems with this of course, the cost being the major restriction. We can't field a side in the VFL as it would mean our reserves would have to train in Melb full time and that didn't work and never will. At this time it is the best we can do and still manage a united squad.
