Interestingly, his old mate Adam Goodes also played his 304th game in Tassie around this time last year - the two of them are never far apart!! Both winning games set up by impressive third quarters after trailing at half time.

Obviously there is still a lot to work on (third quarter blitz aside) and we probably should have been further behind at half time, but damn our midfield can be brilliant to watch when they are all on.

wow new whipping boys besides the likes of Andrejs !

Incy didnt even get a mention in the negative sense

I really think the negative talk is a bit overblown.

Geelong also struggled massively to contain the chip around footy of the Kangas and also a tactic Hawthorn have been known for also

from memory the week before the Kangas were 40pts something ahead at half time over Geelong.

we didnt let the game get away from us which was very different to the Cats.

we are no going to be a chip around team as we have more strengths to play to with a very very very good in and under contested footy team.

I must say though after two qtrs it did feel like we struggled to adjust to combat the chip around style of footy...that is not in question

we certainly zoned off our defence to the middle of the field which was interesting to observe the positives and negatives with this style of defence.

I felt our midfield were simply beaten in the first half and Norths lads simply won more contested clearances and as soon as our midfield made up their mind that enough was enough we got back on top with amazing determination.

Us being beaten in the midfield the first half was primarily my concern but I see light at the end of the tunnel and we are on the rise

PS - an away win is a massive deal and we should not underestimate that winning against a good team a well coached team a team with some very good players and beating them by 40pts is commendable at the least......very good at the top !

I would like to say how much I enjoyed MikePyke's game. He isn't thinking out loud so much now, his game is so much smoother and instinctive nowadays.

Another thing that tickled us to death was when Davo ran past and patted one of our goal kickers on the head in jubilation. It was funny, and I loved it.

Another goal from Pyke sitting around the 50 on an opposition kick in.

Great game, but we really relied heavily on the midfield to get it through the posts.

You might like to have a look at little Lukie Parker. He was represented in a couple of our wins and he set the mood for the third quarter win.

Look I am not going to give anyone a big hit. I think Drey was pretty good until he went off. But they needed something different to Drey in the last quarter

The Kangaroos are a good team. They just haven't figured out how to be a good team for four quarters. No surprise they carved us up at times but a credit to the Swans that they soaked it up and then really turned it on.

The very team we play next week struggled even more against the 'roos than we did, so that's a great sign. At our worst we were only two goals down against an in form Kangaroos and then we delivered the KO punch in the 3rd before cruising in the 4th.

The first couple of pages of this are hilarious.

It is one reason I rarely come here on match day.

The starnge thing is there was hardly a post during the best qrtr of footy we have played for a few years.

I suspect you are alluding to the fact that I questioned Luke Parker after Round 1. He certainly lifted his rate yesterday and I am now happy with his output. Still has a bit of work to do on his disposal and decision making when he has the footy. What I mean here is he sometimes hangs on to the footy too long and gets himself into trouble in traffic.

I'm quite negative at the start of games. I think it stems from when I first supported the club in the mid 90's and we always seemed to be thereabouts but ultimately would disappoint. Another thing is that people post more when things are looking grim because it feels good to vent. When things are going like they were in the 3rd quarter people are more likely to enjoy it and not bother posting.

Too busy watching the action and high fiving.

We are now coming into the rhythm of the game; the boys, not me I mean. It wasn't there so much in the first two games, and all you perfectionists know that playing against someone who is not in your league can be as much a strain as playing against an equal or better.

The kids stood up, NicMal played Shaws game as well as his own, MikePyke is now playing on instinct and a couple of his taps to advantage around the ground were sublime, The beards are going well, Hanners is playing himself into major "senior member of the team" contention along with Lukey. Not sure what is happening with Jetts, maybe that awful hairdo got into his legs, but he still contributed to goals.

                          So its good. (hehe).

You are right. He did too.

It was either this week or last week Goodes and Bolton moved into second place for the most matches played together.
They are not far behind the two crows who lead the way.

This game was actually entertaining to watch unlike the last two. Good to see some of our movement and set ups really coming together. Next week against Geelong will be the real test of our premiership defence. Bring it on I say!

and if you are a 'Roo supported there would be plenty to like. They play an entertaining style when, when, they are up and running
