    Mummy goes on a bender

Reported on the Footy show tonight that Shane Mumford "went on a Bender" friday night in Melbourne after flying back from the Anzac day game.
Reportedly the Club has sanctioned him dealing with the problem before it became a big issue.

Instant Bunyip just add alcohol or was that 34 sausages.

He was probably upset the plane missed Sydney and went to Melbourne.
Nothing like a good light bulb moment.

I have felt he is a player struggling, has his premiership and now has lost he desire. Just does not look hungry, Pyke does

That's a pretty big statement to make. Personally I think it's pretty hard to judge the motivation of a player from the outside, hopefully he'll come right but yeah I'm willing to be patient

Good thing about being a Sydney team. Would be drawn and quartered if he played for a Vic club. No doubt he will get a very firm slap on the wrist if true, but won't get any "baggage" from the experience.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

Disappointing if true, even moreso given his average start to the season

Might be the kick in the pants he needs to fire up.

Interesting that it took a week to leak out.
Must have been a slow news week!!

It probably just depends on how big a bender it was, the media is prone to blow things a bit out of proportion.

He was coming off a run of games in an abnormal timeframe, so I daresay he hadn't gone out for a few beers after the game in the middle. He'd played on the Thursday and would probably have already done his recovery, wasn't playing for another 8-9 days and we can assume he had longer than normal until his next training session.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

How many kebabs would Mummy put away after a big night out?

Anyone who saw him at Lakeside Oval the morning after the Grand Final would know that it must take a lot to slow Mummy down when he gets on it.

Going by his performance at Lakeside last year on the day after the Grand Final, our Mummy likes a drink.

Is this the club's first indiscretion identified by the media since Hannebery's Humpty Dumpty effort.

BTW - I missed the story. What happened? Are we talking about getting in a scuffle? Getting thrown out of a bar as someone who was too intoxicated? Or are we descending into Julian O'Neill/Nate Myles territory?

He kind of stands out doesn't he?

You'd have to have some back up to want to throw the Big Mummy out of an establishment. I suppose the Bouncers are just as big though. I don't have too much of a problem with it, but being refused entry/removed from a venue the day after a game is a little concerning. Hopefully he wasn't completely wiped and the Bouncers were just a bit overzealous. Time to step up again Mummy. Tough run coming up for the boys.
