    Roos coaching the Dees

    Hey comrades,

First time back with a post for a while, long time viewer of RWO!

Tony Sheehan (Mike's son) posted this article via Twitter no more than 10 mins ago. Seems the great man - Paul Roos - could be headed to Melbourne if the AFL gets it's way and Roosy is tempted by the $$ and challenge. Of course, that is if there is any truth to the article.

If Roos is to coach again, I do hope it is at Melbourne or some other club that hasn't had much success (bar the Aints).

Paul Roos would be an excellent choice for Melbourne!

Not that I want him to do it, however can you imagine doing something for a while that you love, and then never doing it again? So assuming that he has the passion to do it again. Just do it!

Can you imagine the match day banter Lyons v Roos v Longmire... could be very interesting! (In a pleasant way)

Could be a reversal a bit like when Barassi come to Sydney to help out and get us firing in the 90's

True and I too would be surprised if he took on the role, at the present. Maybe when the boys finish school he will be back coaching.

However, at the end of the day, the filthy lucre has its lures. And then there is the challenge. He could still do good for a failing club that I think everyone wants to survive without taking on the front and centre coach's role.

Money talks and overcomes all. If Roosy is sounding out Assistant Coaches, he'll be coaching Melbourne before the Queens Birthday clash.

I'm getting slightly annoyed with his commentary on Swans, as Roos waffles on without concentrating on the action at hand

Roos hasn't unequivocally said hell never coach again. He made it clear he wouldn't uproot his kids while they study their HSC ( or whatever you NSW people call it ). Which is why he ruled out coaching in 2013. Next year may be a different story

He'd clear out the playing stock fairly quickly, I'd imagine.

I don't think so as he has been critical of Melbourne discarding senior players in recent years e.g. Maloney, Martin, James McDonald, Rivers etc, etc.

Fledgling club? This story sounds bogus.

So after "not tanking" for draft picks, Melbourne players now have unofficial AFL approval to tank for a new coach.
Kewl! The Swans will play for percentage in round 15, thereafter Roos can swoop in as Demon's caretaker coach for the rest of the year. Though he better not raid our staff or Horse will get mighty cross.
