Re bull opinion-like I said, watched every game he's ever played - and I say again-he's an embarrassment.
Every game. Waste of time changing your opinion.

Reid has done nothing for ages.

Hawks too good and too strong.
Nothing like a good light bulb moment.

Looking forward to your long post.
And that's the point. If you base a judgment only on tonights game you conclude that the side is basically a mid table team.

      Maybe it is.

I don't think you base anything on one game. Maybe over his career Jesse has been a disappointment and maybe he isn't league standard but he wasn't a passenger tonight any more than about 12 of our players.

I can't see the point of bashing the 22nd player selected when 1-15 were comprehensively out pointed.

Well lets face it we always have a really bad game at the MCG every year, usually against Richmond and usually around round 7 so lets hope that was it. Flags aren't won in May and with a bit of luck we will improve with Tippett. Hawthorn were always going to win this one to save face and we were at our worst. I do wonder why Longmiire didnt play Lamb earlier as now he will have to play reserves next week to get game time. W get 2 more chances at the MCG this year and another chance against Hawthorn and Geelong so we will see ow the season pans out. Must admit dont feel as shattered as usual cos we wo the flag last year - think I have a premiership hangover.

But I don't base my judgement on tonight's game-only a consistent appraisal of what Jesse does, or just as importantly what he doesn't do, Game after game I honestly don't understand why or how anyone can keep arguing he should be given another chance when he clearly isn't up to AFL standard-or doesn't do what we expect from a Swans player.

Granted, he was no worse than a small handful of other players tonight-but I'd back every one of the others to make up for that in other games-Jesse won't - or hasn't ever given enough.

Anyway-I thought a 5 goal loss tonight was on the cards. Won't matter when Finals time comes around-we will be a different team.
              Regards,

Based on this game I reckon we only have about ten of league standard
Damn right. We need to revive the sack longmire thread, go to the draft like Melbourne has and all take the collective cyanide tablets

I have been holding off on Sam Reid but geez he's badly out of form. Even when he was free he dropped and fumbled everything. Time for a run in the two's I think. Don't care who they bring in to replace him.

Not a fun game to watch, but I have seen many worse performances. The Hawks were awesome in parts and the swans were just a bit off with their skills so most possessions broke down before getting to the forward line. Reid is frustrating to watch at the moment and our forward 50 entrances are completely unconvincing. Still, there is much improvement to come and I though Rampe, Armstrong and Lamb looked good. Pyke continues to mark well and I thought Jessie looked reasonable as well.

Hawks awesome, faster, slicker, first to the ball, extremely hungry to win this one. Swans missing a few good players.
Not too worry, it's a long way till the finals.
At least the Pies lost as well.

I agree. But he wasn't that bad tonight. Still any Swans side with Jesse in won't win a premiership.

Meh. We played worse last year against Richmond and Saints. No doubt we need to improve throughout the year to challenge again, and with the players we have to come back in Shaw, Mumford,LRT/Tippet/Morton and possibly Rohan I think we will.

That's exactly right - based on this game.

Fortunately I know the season has 22 rounds plus finals

Fortunately I have seen most of these guys play well and so I know they can play at the required standard.

Fortunately I know we only play at the MCG a couple of times so I can confidently predict similar results down here and still do all right.

Fortunately also I expect us to bounce back next week, albeit if we do get knocked off next weekend I think it will matter little that we do get tippett into the side soonish.
