Swans addict?

I have found over the years that the wild excitement has kind of fractured, but what I do feel when we win is deep satisfaction. I am also very tight around the lips when we lose. Please note the "we" here. That's the crux of the matter.

I am proud of the boys, i am proud of the fans (mostly) and I get pissed off mightily when others turn up at the game to chat and drink, and not watch the play, only cheer when everyone else does. I mean why bother coming in the first place! I find that completely disrespectful. hmm...

So addicted? I would say so. The thought of not going to a home game hasn't occurred to me in 17 years. I have been prevented from attending by a broken leg, and a couple of deaths door flu/back spasm events. Even so I felt I aught to have written an apology to the Swans explaining my absence. I go to each and every curtain raiser, and watch each of them with concentration. I am there at sparrows each time and get faintly frantic if the gates are open before I reach them which is, you have to admit, faintly stupid.

Its part of my life fabric. And that's fine by me. No I don't paint my face but I check my redandwhite gear each year for replacement/refurbishment. It has taken me years to work out the perfect carry bag, the perfect rug, the perfect tasty for the day, the slickest way home. I have made many footy friends as well as acquiring good friends too. Wouldn't be without it.

With the GF victory, then the Tippett affair, the pre-season and the Home and Away season alll so exciting I totally forget to take my heroin injections.

And now I'm clean!

It could have been so much different if I were an Essendon fan.

There will be a come-down, and it will be depressing. Wish I could take it all with a grain of salt.

The thing is....we are all part of something that is bigger than us....made friends through it. Know everyone that sits around our seats. Can talk to strangers online about it.

Well as long as stuff gets done in other parts of life, it's all good. I'm sure there's a point at which things like this can exibit all the characteristics of an addiction. This thread was sort of posing the question 'when is it too much?' and thinking about the somewhat ridiculous concept that a bunch of guys I don't know determine what mood I'm in for the week.

However ......Can't...stop.....need...more.......need..... daily......Bloods....transfusion......
