Have yet to get my grubby little hands on a copy of the book but would definitely be interested in a live chat!

I think the blast from the past is alive and well - didn't he pick up the '05 GF as a lead-in to the Eagles game?He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

Sorry all, the actual name of the series of stories on past players written by Main was "Swan Songs" not blast from the past (god knows where I got that) . . . .
And the last one was Max Oaten, dated Tuesday, August 28, 2012. So perhaps they have stopped.Comment

Swan Songs was about past players which appears to have ended, but Blast from the past was a look at past games, such as before the Port game this year, he looked at the 2003 Port Final. I've had a look but haven't found those yet.Comment

I'd forgotten it was called Classic Matches, and it's there again. Jim has picked up the 1933 GF. I was struck by this:
Champion Tiger full-forward Jack Titus even kicked out of bounds on the full from a shot directly in front of goal.
Sounds like a Richmond tradition!

Maybe he used blast from the past as one of his titles, I'm sure I've seen it in relation to these recaps.I'd forgotten it was called Classic Matches, and it's there again. Jim has picked up the 1933 GF. I was struck by this:

And the tiger fans didn't think they could win. Another tradition!!

I've just read the foreword by Bob Skilton and the 1st chapter.
He has really got into the players hub to get the right insight, and gives The Age a back hander in the process.
Anyway we are still keen to get a Twitter chat going.
I was thinking a lunch time for roughly an hour. A Wednesday or Thursday???
Not sure what peoples thoughts are, or the publishers, on a night time event.
If people can't make it they can send me qn's and I'll ask them as I'll be hosting it.
Thoughts??Comment

Finished the book today. A great read, well-written and structured with sidebar-type takes on the players. I particularly took note of his discussion of the stuff around Barry Hall's departure, and thought it was fair and balanced on the mixed feelings around the club.
Apparently at the Ladies' Lunch he said he'd do an update if we got the premiership this year!He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment
