    Rnd 23 fixture Prospects

With Hawthorn likely to be rewarded for finishing on top of the ladder with a Friday night clash against the Sydney Swans at ANZ Stadium, the Pies' game had to be scheduled for Saturday or Sunday.
Pies face one less day to prepare for final - AFL.com.au

More likely one less day to think about mad Monday and pre-season 2014.

So they are going to move the NRL match? If the Bulldogs are saying they are prepared to move, one can only suggest that the AFL must be throwing them a bone. Highly unlikely they will move the date, just the venue. Friday night is prime viewer time for NRL and sponsors would not be happy if the game was moved from Friday night. They couldn't give a toss about the venue, as long as it is in TV.

I daresay the Bulldogs would have jumped at that.

                Sydney's Bulldogs would.
Ours would have to sit up and beg!

                  Dear Stakeholder,
A scheduling clash has arisen for our Round 25 match against the Penrith Panthers on Friday 30 August with the Sydney Swans also booked to play at ANZ Stadium on the same day.
We are working with all parties on achieving the best possible resolution that takes into consideration the requirements of our football department, members, fans, corporate partners and the broadcasters.
We will be in touch as soon as we have more information.
                  Regards,

Friday night at Homebush sucks for anyone catching the buses. Sydney Friday gridlock. Never mind. I'll just leave a bit earlier this time. Other than that happy to go to the footy on a Friday night. Should be a big crowd and a massive national TV audience. Bring it on.

It'd be nice to see Seven take it even further and try screening the game on their main channel.

I think this is the first home and away game played at ANZ on a Friday night. All others mentioned have been finals.

That is good we are scheduled on the Friday - gives us at very least the exact same rest (assuming we play Hawthorn again the next week) or more if we play anyone else. I won't be going up for it though, saving the pennies for the finals (think I might have enough together to do every week of the finals, no matter where )

Now it's decided I hope as many fans as possible roll up for the game, no matter what they think of the venue or the timeslot. Our boys will need us!
