Lets face it - Bolton and less so Shaw are not the two half forwards you want for that job and McGlynn was nowhere to be seen. When you can have Bolton/White/Pyke-Mummy/Tippett/Shaw down the one end of the field, against a quality side you must be making sure you kick a score or regather possession.

The sooner Lamb/Rohan/BJack can get game time the better. There was zero forward defensive pressure last week. And that's where it starts from when you turn it over. Transition was way too quick as our talls and our oldies (said with much love) do not have the speed.
dead right Nich not enough match fit players in the forward half and lots of ball coming out.

The invisible Benny McGlynn did hurt though.

I do agree that we need to keep working on forward separation, and they do get in each other's way at times. Lack of forward pressure was indeed a very big problem last week.

I expect we will do well this week, but it may be hard to take much out of it. The Cats will be the test.
i don't know how many times jesse & the rucks led only to be ignored due to the game plan to KICK TO TIP! Bloody annoying. honour the best lead in my opinion.

Look we could have brought Xav in to play one full game at AFL level. I am telling you he is going to be awesome next year. He is really somebody special. The best judge of mark or spoil I have seen since Silvagni. He had a really great match last round against UWS.

Of the other injured players the tricky one is Reid. He may be playing for the twos this week. Hope so. Need him to get some touch and confidence back before he plays As.
He has been playing Full Forward or Forward Flank in the Twos. He is not ready for the mids yet or HB, too stressful. He kicked 3 last week but it was how he got the ball. I would love to see him used in small bursts on the wing.

No resting of players. Keep 'em match hardened. Worked last year, will work again this year. The lads were tired the last weeks after heavy training load. Get the feeling the head honchos have eased the training load this week.

        I'd go this way:

Lamb for White. Rohan for B Jack

And what would that be about Ugg? By the way you were right last week Longmire made the mistake of playing Smith on Elliot. Elliot is a very high mark and in the past Smithy has always had problems with players who play high. He is not a leaper. Elliot was killing him before Rampe went to him also Mal was getting rolled by Blair. I just didn't get the match ups at all and when Swan started on the bench well we didn't see that but we should have as we have pulled such tricks before.

As to this week. I hope Benny goes out to get some form in the Twos and he can take Rhyce with him both were pretty @@@@ful last week. Jude was also not great, he knows how to get his own ball but doesn't seem to know how to read off the packs any-more. I thought our balance was upset last week by two weeks of players being brought in for budding players who were actually playing well. I think there is a resentment amongst the younger players that some senior players don't have to prove themselves to get a place, check Benny & Rhyce.

Won't happen with Jease named in the starting XVIII. Besides st Kilda are really undersized in the backline

Leigh Matthews on 3aw just now made the interesting point that we have 12 players who have played every game, hawks and cats have 4 each.He pondered whether he would of rested more this week in particular some key defenders, obviously you cant rest all of them at once though.Of course injuries have meant we couldnt list manage as much as we would like to.Matthews thinks we should have rested as many as possible this week.

So what do you all think is having that many play every game until now a good thing ie stability and cohesion or could it bite us in the arse coming into the finals?
We rested players for the geelong away game last year. Could probably do that again depending on results.

Totally agree, but I guess that the long-term gain is being put before the short-term pain. TBH I would have preferred to just play the kids we've had recently, but I'd probably regret that come finals.

Anyone ever told you you're a tease?

How about Longmire accepts job as Brisbane coach? To step down from the Swans with immediate effect?

Swans fess up to 8 year peptide campaign?

Buddy really is coming to the Swans?

Ted Richards to announce his retirement?

Josh Kennedy, Dan Hannebery and Kieran Jack all out injured for the rest of the season?

Tippett has changed his mind and wishes he were back in Adelaide?

                      Am I getting close?

Wow, nothing that melodramatic, certainly nothing involving shredding of membership cards or even the threat of doing so. But more than a little surprising, at least from my point of view.
