Horse on SEN this morning talking about GazzaBefore you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.Comment

YippeeIf I didn't have conflicting plans on Sunday, I would of made the trip back up the highway just to cheer him on
I wonder where they'll play him - maybe in one of the pockets or on the half forward flank so as to limit the overall amount of running he has to do. I'd also think this might mean Lamb will be the sub. Of course he could be the sub himself."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Is it significant that Craig Bird is selected in the Ressies? they have only posted the names of 21 players so far.Comment

And the I/C likely to be McGlynn, Mitchell,B Jack, Rohan. Perhaps Jack as sub to give Rohan maximum time on ground. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

Surely Jack needs to play more than half a quarter soon to keep fitness up? I'd think maybe Lamb will be sub, and will replace Rohan at some stage."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Good. Somebody has to pay for last week's craven effort. The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

That will be pretty harsh on Bird imo. But they certainly seem to be fiddling looking for the best combo overall. Still, I'd have Bird in my top 22, even if everyone was fit.

I very much doubt that this is how it will go, but I would rest Mitchell and BJ. I am sure both would be upset! Rohan is definitely in, so the other in would be between Lamb and Cunningham. The fact that Lamb hasn't played a full game for a couple of weeks counts against him but he would be good in the forward line and give Benny a more upfield or stopping role. Or Cunningham in to share the bench with Gazza. I wouldn't 'rest' Bird.
Round 23 (a bit off the subject!) is going to be very interesting with Horse signalling that Reid, Goodesy and Jetta are on track for consideration for that game. Jesse is going to have to play the games of his life to make it impossible to drop him for Reid. A return for Jets may depend on how Rohan goes these next two games and more importantly pulls up after them.
Realistically Goodesy must be the only one you would rush straight into the firsts but in what position?. If KT, Jesse, Mummy and Pykey have worked out how to complement each other in the forward line by then, Goodesy could well stuff it up because he plays his best when he is doing his own thing! Still, you have to think that Jesse is again the vulnerable one.Comment
