I see that the reserves list has been revised and now has all the I/C players included. Maybe a backtrack cover up. At least four will be removed at later stage.

I very much doubt that this is how it will go, but I would rest Mitchell and BJ. I am sure both would be upset! Rohan is definitely in, so the other in would be between Lamb and Cunningham. The fact that Lamb hasn't played a full game for a couple of weeks counts against him but he would be good in the forward line and give Benny a more upfield or stopping role. Or Cunningham in to share the bench with Gazza. I wouldn't 'rest' Bird.
Round 23 (a bit off the subject!) is going to be very interesting with Horse signalling that Reid, Goodesy and Jetta are on track for consideration for that game. Jesse is going to have to play the games of his life to make it impossible to drop him for Reid. A return for Jets may depend on how Rohan goes these next two games and more importantly pulls up after them.
Realistically Goodesy must be the only one you would rush straight into the firsts but in what position?. If KT, Jesse, Mummy and Pykey have worked out how to complement each other in the forward line by then, Goodesy could well stuff it up because he plays his best when he is doing his own thing! Still, you have to think that Jesse is again the vulnerable one."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Birdy would be unlucky if dropped, but of he's rested, fine. He is a very important part of our team and will be especially so in finals.
After seeing Harry in the Ressies last week I would give him a run. He looked a class above last week and I think he'd be ready to bring in for an extended run anytime. Obviously that'd likely be 2014 but he's ready for more AFL action.Comment

A lot will depend on whether we beat Geelong. If we do, that gives Horse room to move on team selections for round 23. If we don't, he can't take any chances.
I'm probably talking loco, but how about Goodes on-ball, keep our big four, Jetta and Rohan on each wing or maybe Rohan in a forward pocket? Pre-injury disasters, Goodes was talking about moving into the midfield. Hawks and Geelong are susceptible to speed, so if Jetta and Rohan can demonstrate fitness and an ability to play, you'd have to seriously consider keeping them both. Thats a big if though.
Beating Geelong is quite important because it gives them room to experiment before the main game. One thing is looking certain though - some players will miss out in the coming month when they don't deserve to. The Swans 'team first' culture will be put to the test.Comment

Its doing my head in. He could get picked up by another club easily as we keep dropping him...How can we Play Shaw and drop him? I'm getting on the blower to Horse for a full explanation. Watch this space. He probably won't take my calls...again.you know what they say, dirty pants- clean bottyComment

?? He played every game last year and missed the first game this season..I don't remember why. Missed geelong round 3 or so but every game since...so about 40 of a possible 43 or so?? Where's the problem? Seems to me to be safely locked into the 22.Comment

they are playing merry go rounds with the ressies team list. The only players nominated that were originally included in I/C senior list are Harry and BJ. The other 5 removed!! A point I was going to make on Uggs reserves thread (not yet up) about the list is the that it is the first sign of Sam Naismith for our Club. Must have been a long year for him.Comment

Why Bird? The only way he should be left out is if he has niggles and is to be completely rested,if he plays reserves then somethings really wrong. We cant drop players who have done the job all year and bring in half fit and undisciplined guys in their place.Mcglynn whacked a young kid and gets straight back in,shaw is very unfit but gets straight back in.
What is so bad about playing 3-4 ressies games first and forcing your way back in with sustained form like the likes of White,TDL (when he was still with us]and Morton have been forcecd to do time and again. We played some very good footy without all these injured guys.Lamb should never have been dropped, theres certain guys in our squad who are a protected species. One of my all time favourite players has until recent weeks had a stinker of a year but for some reason cant be dropped.
Also Mcglynn in the second half of the season has been woeful, nearly all his goals came early in the season then he whacks a kid but walks straight back in,wheres this much vaunted ethos of earning a spot,Leigh Matthews last night said he thought things might get messy for us towards the end of year and we would have more than just a few disgruntled players, sure there will have to be but i just hope we pick on form and fitness not on names or whats been done over previous seasons.
If anyone has to be disgruntled id rather it be one of those older few who have been surpassed by younger guys this season than one of our young guys who could be with us for the next ten years.Runs on the board should only matter if your picking two people of equal fitness and similiar form. Its a fact Lamb,Mitchell and Rampe have gone past some of their older counterparts this year and hopefully those guys can see that when the time comes for the tough calls to be made.Comment

Have always been a fan of McGlynn, but noted that we didnt really miss him when he was suspended / injured. Strange given he was our leading goal kicker at the time. Harsh on Lamb last week, even worse given Ben's output against the Pies.
No doubt some major selection dilemmas coming our way once everyone is fit.He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment
