As someone said earlier - it is strategically and financially more beneficial to focus on the SCG, for many extremely obvious reasons.

Stadium Australia is a very important strategic asset to our club and to slink back to being an eastern suburbs club only (the scg is an absolute pain to get to for 80% of Sydney) would be very, very backward thnking.

Grow up you whinny bitches. Anz didn't beat us, collingwood did.
Relax Bary. This thread seems to be about how much ANZ sucks to watch AFL at. Whether or not you think a home ground advantage doesn't mean **** to an AFL team would be a separate topic.

You can walk from Central to the SCG within a few minutes. Central is called Central for a pretty good reason: all Sydney's train lines run through it.

I look forward to drowning my sorrows after Collingwood beats us at the SCG in one (or many) of the selection of great pubs within easy walking distance of our home ground......

Who's sooking over a loss? Who mentioned collingwood? This is about getting value for our memberships. And like many swans supporters I live in the west. Homebush sucks. If the AFL made ticket prices there affordable enough that it attracted curious newbies to the game then that might justify it. But for members placed where they can't see the whole field? Just wrong.

I hate watching AFL at ANZ stadium whether we win or lose as the stadium does suck.

            WRONG WRONG WRONG

There maybe the odd poster who hates that the Wobbles beat us at Homebush...But your vitriol is totally misplaced.

The vast majority on here....we just hate the place ...win, loose or draw.

It's a vacuous, atmosphere deprived, soulless stadium.. Where there is no connection to the field.... Need binoculars to see anything..It's crap.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

No sir, it is you who is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.

I love the place. Its easy to get to, and it can hold very big crowds.... pity the AFL/Swans dont promote these games more so we can get back to 60,000+ crowds like the early days.

This thread pops up regularly in different forms. I think homebush worked early for novelty and curiosity value. I don't think people, like me, are interested in going back

Someone might have to start a poll to prove the obvious:

"Which venue do you prefer to watch the Swans at?" a) ANZ Stadium b) the SCG.

I suspect the results of that poll will determine what is or isn't WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.

Too right. It's a fact of life that the AFL wants 3 games there a season. We're gonna obviously carry the bulk of them as GWS are ages away from pulling 40,000 plus crowds.

Time to move on. Maybe write a letter to the club, AFL or ANZ.

                                Agree.

Some accept that we're locked in for a few more years and deal with it, some cannot seem to let it go. One also likes to somehow always link GWS into it.

The fact that we haven't lost a final there since 2003 seems to be lost on a lot of posters as well who somehow seem to think we are unbeatable at the SCG, when in fact we are anything but. Our most impressive performances have been on bigger grounds over the past few seasons, not the SCG.

All that said, I'd probably personally prefer to be at the SCG permanently, but I'd certainly never contemplate ditching the team because they have to play a few games at Homebush and anybody preaching the line that playing at Homebush is detrimental to our onfield results is ignoring facts...
