Because Melbourne journos are twats as far as Sydney Swans are concerned. And, Fitzsimons is another problem. Who is he to talk about AFL anyway. Zero credibility as far as I'm concern.

Swans set for all-clear on Buddy

Then the Dawks will have the 3 days from that point to figure out if they will match it which would be 99% unlikely from all their activity.
Hopefully the Dawks can just say no straight out tomorrow so we can finally see Buddy officially as a Swan!

While I am still a bit ambivalent about the contract for Franklin, I do love the thought of Goodes, Franklin and Jetta playing together and Michael O'Loughlin as the Swans Academy coach. I recall in an interview that went with the photo above when the Australian Indigenous squad was announced, that Franklin said it had always been his dream to play alongside either Andrew McLeod or Adam Goodes. Well now he can do it as a Swan for at least a full season (hoping for good fortune on injuries after Adam's bad luck this year). .

Reading the separate thread on the TLM reminded me that there is a nice interview with Troy Luff embedded in the Fox Sports link below that some might not have seen. He is very enthusiastic about Franklin coming to the Swans. Sorry I don't know how to unpack that interview from the rest of the article.
