I made a few adjustments to Matt80 2014 Team, which is close to mine own thoughts on this. Main changes are adding Hanners (inadvertently omitted for sure) and omitting Reid, as I think if the Franklin deal goes through, there's a good chance he will have to be moved on due to salary cap considerations. If not, all the better, but I would put him in the backline in place of Grundy. In any case, it's a pretty good side.

    B Johnson Richards Smith
    H.B Malceski Grundy Rampe
    C McVeigh Hannebery K.Jack
    H.F Rowan Franklin Jetta
    F Goodes Tippett ROK
    Foll Pyke Kennedy Parker
    Inter Bird, Mitchell, Everitt McGlynn

Sub from - Shaw, LRT, Cunningham, Membrey, Towers, Lamb

to be honest ROK is going to find it hard to have much impact in this team

Just like Bolton this year being overtaken in speed and agility Lambie Rohan Jetta Rampe Towers Cunningham with another preseason will be flying and finding targets - twin tower targets !

Well either your ex player or Andrew Ireland on 360 tonight are telling fibs, would love to know which, Goodesy seemed very genuine last week when he was adamant Buddy wasnt coming to us.

The 360m show was quite instructive for me (I don't normally have access to Foxtel).

Ireland pointed out that for much of the time we have got the best out of recycling unwanted players. This time we've got a few marquee individuals which gets up the noses of the Melbourne establishment.

Those guys still see the AFL as the VFL with expansion teams tacked on for decoration. How awful of the Swans not to give GWS some help to their little brothers! Maybe if they reduced the ridiculous number of Victorian teams there would be a lot more '3rd party' money to go around for them and they'd be able to compete with salary more effectively.

              Kinnear Beatson... take a bow.

My only hope is that someone has read the no dickheads policy out loud to Buddy. I don't know if he can read without moving his lips.

Our players can generally walk around Sydney without being bothered... GWS players can walk around naked and they still don't get bothered. I'm a bit concerned that Buddy will run with it... his behavioural problems are different to our other problem children. I just hope that Goodesy keeps him under his wing.

Can you imagine the other coaches trying to triple man all of our forwards... oi, Teddy... just come in and kick seven goals will ya!!

Roosey was a defender... he fixed our defence. About time Horse did something about the forwards. I'm really looking forward to a goal fest.

Money isn't an issue. The swans don't spend more than what they earn.

My most favourite news of the day is Micky coming home.

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Didn't Eddie go on and on and on. You couldn't tell if he was complaining about the COLA, or the unfairness to GWS, unfairness to the whole competition, how dare they do something no one else has thought of, complaining that the Swans were using the Swans Academy to hide players, mentioned Roos and his effort to get a player........

Matthews had a go at the Swans saying that GWS made a responsible offer. You goose Matthews, you STUFFED UP !! You should have offered him 1.8 million for 6 years and he may have taken it. As if they don't have the space under their salary cap. They are too stupid to be in the Sydney market. He said they have Plan B,C,D. Yeah right. Recruit Thomas to advertise their Club. Absolute business morons.

I think the Swans should be aggressive and trade Mumford and another noted player such as Lamb or Bird for the No 1 pick. Get Boyd and stick that up the other Clubs noses.

Someone should tell McGuire that if you can't beat them join them - relocate Collingwood to Villawood and join in the Cola. There's already a large Centre their to room their players .

Mightbloods that was a funny joke about the coffee and Ted spoiling. LRT is ready to throw balls at him at training.
Nothing like a good light bulb moment.

Sorry Ludwig. Hannas would be in my team! An error. I would move him to the half forward flank to replace B. Jack.

So I guess that leaves Heath Shaw out of the running???

I accuse myself of being a bit churlish at times, but I am a sweetie pie in comparison with the gloop being spread about by the VFL clubs. Actually it has made my day, I haven't laughed so much in ages.

I heard Andrew Ireland's interview. A few comments:

1)Do you think that he would admit that any players knew about this prior to this week? He knew Adam gave an interview on TV and the response was to protect the integrity of some individuals.
2)I made the comment just after Adam's interview on 360 that he appeared genuinely shocked by Robbo asking the question about Buddy to the Sydney Swans. Gerard from 360 admitted tonight to Robbo that he was himself shocked at the question. Adam would of known that for the deal to be successful that nothing could be said.
3)Do we honestly think that Horse only engaged the leadership group for a sign off, as Andrew Ireland suggested, on the Monday? The day before Buddy was to communicate his decision to the Hawks and GWS. It maybe right about the whole leadership group but I would suggest that a few senior players knew about the Buddy approach far earlier.
                                4) Adam and Micky O are good friends with Buddy. If you were Buddy, would you not consult with your mates to ascertain if you would be accepted by the group if you were to move? Ask questions about property in the Eastern Suburbs close to the SCG?
                                5) Horse is a very good friend of Pickering (Buddy's and Horse's manager). Pickering would have made the approach to Horse after the GF last year to gauge if the Swans would be interested. Pickering would have passed on Buddy's preference to play with the Swans...ie Premiership window, some mates in both the Swans and Sydney there, living in the Eastern Suburbs near a beach...etc
                                6) This was the 'bad news' from my opinion but not a surprise. Andrew Ireland mentioned about the retirements (Bolts, Marty) and that White and Mumford likely to go along with some other players....ouch!
