I wasn't going to start this till the end of the month, but with all the volunteers helping it is time to start.
So without any further ado...
Rounds 1 and 2 are brought to you by Xie Shan!!
Round 1: GWS Giants 11.10 (76) def. by Sydney Swans 16.10 (106), ANZ Stadium
The Swans began their premiership defence on a very warm Easter Saturday afternoon in a twilight fixture at the Olympic Stadium against their little brothers, the GWS Giants. The Giants had talked up the cross-town rivalry during the week, promoting the match as the ?Battle of the Bridge? and attempting to claim anything west of the Anzac Bridge as Giants territory. In reality, however, the Swans supporter base is by no means confined to the Eastern Suburbs and North Shore, with many fans in the west and north west in particular.
On to the match, and the reigning premiers made a statement by keeping the young Giants goalless in the opening quarter and applying immense pressure, dismissing any talk of a possible premiership hangover. However, the Swans showed that they were still a long way off their best football so early in the season, allowing the Giants to get a run on in the second quarter and actually took the lead before the Swans steadied with five straight goals to end the half. The second half was rather forgettable, though Sam Reid set the disappointing crowd of only 23,000 mostly red and white fans alight with a screamer in the third quarter. Dane Rampe made an encouraging debut filling in for the injured Alex Johnson and would go on to play a pivotal role in the backline throughout season 2013.
Goals: Jack 3, Bolton 2, Goodes 2, McGlynn 2, Pyke 2, Reid 2, Mumford, Kennedy, McVeigh
Brownlow: 3. J Kennedy (Syd), 2. S Mumford (Syd), 1. K Jack (Syd)
Bob Skilton Medal: Josh Kennedy 41, Kieren Jack 40, Ryan O?Keefe 40

Round 2: Sydney 17.12 (114) def. Gold Coast Suns 11.7 (73)
The first game at the SCG for 2013 saw the Swans unfurl their premiership flag from 2012, allowing the fans to re-live those amazing memories of that unforgettable grand final once more.
Gold Coast?s first visit to the SCG and the game was a wet one. The Suns stayed close on the scoreboard for most of the game as the Swans were clearly easing their way into the season and were rusty once again. Jarrad McVeigh was outstanding with 4 goals and 27 possessions, but arguably more impressive was Kieren Jack winning his match up with Gary Ablett, keeping the champ to just 24 possessions while having 28 himself.
Goals: McVeigh 4, Everitt 2, O'Keefe 2, Parker 2, Pyke 2, McGlynn, Bolton, Jack, Jetta, Kennedy
Brownlow: 3. J McVeigh (Syd), 2. K Jack (Syd), 1. C Dixon (GCS)
Bob Skilton Medal: Jarrad McVeigh 45, Kieren Jack 45, Luke Parker 40, Nick Smith 40[/QUOTE]
