Round 7 MCG May 11 Hawthorn Hawks 18-11-119 Def Sydney Swans 12-10-82
The Grand Final replay was played on a lovely clear Saturday evening at the scene of our great triumph eight months earlier!
Unfortunately The Hawks wanted revenge and came out all guns ablaze and had five majors on the board before the big Canadian marked and goaled for The Swans first in the 24th minute of the first quarter. The Swans were never realistically in the match after The Hawks kicked six to three in the second to lead by 40 at half time.
The second half produced a much more even game but the damage had been done and The Hawks inflict the boys second loss of the season by 37 points.
Goals - Kennedy 2, McGlynn 2, O'Keefe 2, Parker, Lamb, Bolton, White, Goodes, Pyke.
Skilton - Goodes, Kennedy, Smith.

Round 8 SCG May 18 Sydney Swans 11-4-70 drew with Fremantle Dockers 9-16-70
After a disappointing loss in the Gf replay the week before, the fourth place Swans look to bounce back against the fifth place Dockers.
The Dockers kick the first two goals of the match before Hanners marks and kicks truly to register The Swans first for the evening and the first of four that he would kick tonight. The visitors have the better of the first quarter but inaccurate kicking sees them only lead by 6 points at the first change.
The second is all The Swans with Hanners kicking another three and the team kicking 4.2 to only 2 behinds by The Dockers to lead by 18 at half time.
The third quarter again sees The Dockers dominate but unable to get it between the big sticks so the home team still hold a nine point lead at three quarter time.
Start of the fourth and The Swans look to have the game sewn up, kicking the first three and being 27 points up after the first ten minutes but the dockers weren't to be denied and come storming home with only a Sam Reid mark deep in defence in the dying seconds salvaging the draw.
Goals - Hannebery 4, McGlynn 2, Bolton, Everitt, Jack, Pyke, Jetta.
Brownlow - 3 Hannebery, 2 Fyfe, 1 Jack
Skilton - Hannebery, McVeigh, Jack, Kennedy.
